If you want to be safe in Ljubljana, visit it especially during the day, never, or at least if you stay in Ljubljana after midnight. Using public transport is very safe, there is no need to be afraid. People are very friendly and happy to help you. Despite the fact that Slovenia is a very safe country, it is not superfluous to keep an eye on your belongings and check who you hang out with.
Posted: September 24, 2025I think Ljubljana is pretty safe. If you’re a woman it’s probably safest for you to transport yourself with a bike or a bus or an Uber. There is a subculture of teenage boys and younger men who tend to harrass non-basic looking people on the streets but other than that it’s pretty peaceful and safe.
Posted: September 9, 2025I really felt safe there. Many people approach you on their own and offer their help, trying to make you feel as comfortable as possible. So for anyone's first solo vacation, I can truly recommend it. ^^

I find Ljubljana very safe. In general I think there is not a lot of crime. But I still don't feel comfortable walking by myself at night... You have to be very careful in clubs because you could be drugged. I would still recomend clubbing but not alone.

Very safe. Slovenia is generally one of the most safest countries in the world. Maribor is the second largest city and in all my life I had only experienced few weird occasions where I felt unsafe, but nothing major or life threathening. Just use common sense and you should be fine.

Izola is a truly warm and simply beautiful place to slow down. I found the beaches, which are very easily accessible on foot, to be the most beautiful. My favorites were Strunjan Beach and Bele Skale Beach, truly wonderful.
