It’s quite safe except a few cat callers and drunks who will sometimes latch onto a body part sometimes. There’s only a few beggars and even they keep more to themselves than anything. Some men don’t get the aspect of personal boundaries but you can just push them away and they won’t really start a fight
Posted: May 11, 2025Slovenia is a very safe country. Only in certain cities there are problems with Roman's such as Novo mesto, Krško and Ljubljana but if you stick to often travelled paths, which are everywhere, you will be safe.
Posted: May 1, 2025It is very safe. I've been living here my whole life and I havent experienced many bad things. Sometimes you see homeless people but they arent dangerous just loud and talking to themselfs or asking for a cigarette. I have walked home at night since I was 14 and nothing bad happened never. Unless you find a drunk man asking you for a taxi there is really nothing special. I feel safe here.

Ljubljana is a very tame place, mostly folks at night are either chilling outside clubs or walking from one to the next, or they are rushing to their morning jobs. There are no no-go zones like in some bigger cities, and in general its pretty quiet at night.
Posted: April 22, 2025It is a small city and feels very safe. Maybe when you are alone at night as a woman it can feel a bit scary in some parts of the city, but overall it has a very safe vibe. Especially the centre I am never worried about something happening to me.

My solo trip to Ljubljana felt very safe and I was far from being the only tourist there. Talking to people along the way, enjoying the weather and having nice food. I tried the dumplings and they were good (it tastes a bit like pancakes). It is advicable to leave Ljubljana to see other sights as well if your trip exceeds 2-3 days imo!

Hi! I am a student from Slovenia who wishes to backpack around Europe. Some of my hobbies are reading, drawing and horse-back riding. I would love to go on a trail ride if the opportunity arises. I love music and photography so I like beautiful views and aesthetic scenery.
