Overall, it is a pretty safe city. However, there could be homeless/sketchy people walkingg around in the city center - but they are most often harmless. Except in the winter times, people are walking freely on the streets even after midnight. Especially in the summer, you could walk at 5am by yourself and still be OK.
Posted: December 23, 2024It's a very safe place to live. It is a small country with good people, good food, and positive vibes. There are many great food places to visit. The mountains are amazing for hiking. We have one of the oldest lakes in Europe. The viewpoints are very nice.

Skopje is a safe city. The locals are polite and the city is not that densly populated so crowds are not that common. There are just a copuld of spots that are more suspicious than the other but as long as you stay away from Chair, Plasticharska Ulica, Cigansko Maalo and Zlokukjani, you'll be just fine. Overal the city is very safe.

First of all, I have to say that it is a very cute little Balkan city. I went to the Chinese restaurant and the ambiance and food were very nice. There is a bridge that divides the country into two parts. On one side, there are sidewalks from the Ottoman period. The part of the city we call the old town is where you can see many Turkish restaurants and cafes. Of course, you can also see many traces from the Ottoman period. The other part is in a completely European order, as if there are two different countries in the same city. A safe and beautiful city
