Overall, it is a pretty safe city. However, there could be homeless/sketchy people walkingg around in the city center - but they are most often harmless. Except in the winter times, people are walking freely on the streets even after midnight. Especially in the summer, you could walk at 5am by yourself and still be OK.

It's a small city of around 10K citizens and pretty safe for solo traveling women. People are helpful and hospitable. One concern is the stray dogs. They don't attack if not teased but it's better to be aware.
Posted: August 28, 2024It's a very safe place to live. It is a small country with good people, good food, and positive vibes. There are many great food places to visit. The mountains are amazing for hiking. We have one of the oldest lakes in Europe. The viewpoints are very nice.
Posted: July 9, 2024Bitola is very safe and enjoyable for both solo travels and groups of tourists. The city is well light ar night so it makes walking at night enjoyable. During weekends the center of the city is busy all throughout the night because of the many clubs and restaurants that work almost until dawn, so crime rate in the area almost nonexistent.

Skopje is a safe city. The locals are polite and the city is not that densly populated so crowds are not that common. There are just a copuld of spots that are more suspicious than the other but as long as you stay away from Chair, Plasticharska Ulica, Cigansko Maalo and Zlokukjani, you'll be just fine. Overal the city is very safe.

I felt safe every time There are many places worth seeing. Skopje, Ohrid, Bitola, Tetova. you must see The food was very delicious. I ate meatballs, it was great Since I went with a tour company, accommodation and meals were included in the price I paid. I didn't have much extra expenses either. I provided transportation by tour bus.

North Macedonia
First of all, I have to say that it is a very cute little Balkan city. I went to the Chinese restaurant and the ambiance and food were very nice. There is a bridge that divides the country into two parts. On one side, there are sidewalks from the Ottoman period. The part of the city we call the old town is where you can see many Turkish restaurants and cafes. Of course, you can also see many traces from the Ottoman period. The other part is in a completely European order, as if there are two different countries in the same city. A safe and beautiful city
