Muar

A good place for solo female travelers. At night, there is a park for people who remain active until 10 PM. I also noticed many police patrols after 2 AM. The nightlife is more focused on dining at seafood restaurants, with not much in terms of nightclubs. If you are out until 10 PM for dining or meeting friends at a restaurant, it is safe.

Puchong

Everyone is generally friendly and helpful. I have walked around my neighbourhood at midnight alone and it’s safe. I just don’t personally do that often just in case there are drunk people on the streets.

Subang Jaya

it is a pretty safe place to roam around freely, even as a woman. People are really friendly, and are always ready to help out with anything. there isn’t a language barrier as well as most people speak in english

Morib

Morib is a beach in a small city. İt's safe for woman but i advise not to go out after 10pm. There has a small restaurant for shellout- seafood and some Indian cuisine. You can spend RM200 or less at Morib for a week. There is a lot of homestay you can choose and mostly it's in a residential area, so you're safe in the community. You may rent Grab or personal taxi. You can enjoy beach activity such as picnic, collecting razor clamp with expert local and sunset view.

Kulim

It's safe here because the people are friendly. If you ask the locals for anything, they will try to help you. If you are hungry and need some food, just ask, and they will try to provide it. Don't worry! 😁

Nilai

Nilai is a suburb near the KLIA. Here is pretty relaxed and we have got lovely community. Low crime rated because petrol cars are everywhere and people lives in community where we know each other, where news spread very fast. The least crime that happen is bikes making ramming sound.

Sandakan

Is safe in terms of no one will hassle you. Locals are quite in their own businesses that don’t even bother to say hi. Tons of illegal immigrants from Philippine that you may see them sleeping on the streets; kids asking for money but they’re harmless. No physical contact if that’s what you’re worried about.

Kuala Terengganu

Overall as safe city but not so much public transport to get around. But the people here are friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Definitely a must visit and you have so many friendly people across of all ages willing to help you, the same applies in almost every place, do not walk around dark alleys or go out too late at night

Kuala Lumpur

Overall, the touristy areas in Kuala Lumpur (Petaling Street, KLCC, etc) are quite safe, the only thing is that it can get crowded so I would just be a bit more careful with my belongings to be extra safe and vigilant. Like any other city, avoid walking alone at night, especially in less touristy areas. Another thing to note is that the MRT (train lines) in Malaysia have women only coaches so you can opt for these as you travel around KL. For other public transport options, it is recommended to use grab rather than taxis since you get the price upfront.

Kuala Lumpur

Safe but don’t test it. Avoid dark alleys, wearing too flashy items or appear lost and not confident. Most spots are safe, just some areas or when your sling bags are just too exposed and you appear vulnerable. I go out late night all the time but always stay cautious and mindful where i am

Is Malaysia worth visiting?

Langkawi, Solo travel

Langkawi is made for tourists. Although I hate these kinds of places, the island is amazing. It used to be a hippie-gathering place, so there's a lot of reggae and hippie vibe all over the island. For women who are traveling and looking for a hostel, check out Bunga Hostel. The owner is a friend of mine, and she has created a hotel only for women. It's a creative place for solo female travelers.

Malaysia, Family travel

I don't have any pictures because my parents have them but the locals are absolutely friendly, very chill and harmless. They are very welcoming and the food is just delicious. I was in Kuantan btw. And the sunset is soooooo pretty on the beach
