I live in a village and I actually feel relatively safe there. In the slightly larger cities or the capital, I try to avoid areas like around the railway station, as I think the crime and drug rates are higher there

Luxembourg is one of the safest countries in the world. Some petty crime has been on the rise in the train station area but nothing too worrisome. Public transport is free and safe; Luxembourg police are friendly and always willing to help
Posted: April 8, 2025Overall is quite safe the people are really good hear. Of course there are some places that you need to avoid but it’s really good. Even at night you can walk around without any problems solo or with friends
Posted: March 23, 2025Other than the train station and its surrounding area which is not as safe and to be avoided if possible especially at night, Luxembourg City is very safe in my experience. I have never been assaulted or harassed.
Posted: March 14, 2025Luxembourg is a very safe place to visit. There could be some weird people at the main train station at night, but there is pretty much nothing to worry about, because there is security. The same goes for taking trains during the night/early morning.
Posted: January 26, 2025I do actually fund it safe, it’s like most places, because there are places you know it’s best not to go a certain hour or alone, but even tho it still has that, I am not really scared at all here, i’m a small women (21y) 1,40m so I look like a kid most of the times and still nothing happened to me until now, even when in the past I went to tricky places and even there nothing happened, so I do think it’s pretty safe
Posted: January 25, 2025Luxembourg is very safe when it comes to the major cities as well as the small ones. The train station areas are to avoid especially at night. Crowded places can also have pickpocketers but otherwise its not an issue. People are friendly and helpful.
Posted: January 7, 2025Luxembourg has changed a lot. When I was young it would be mich safer than now due to certain circumstances, especially at the train station in the city. However, I feel pretty safe in Luxembourg and I would just be careful at night, it might be a bit more dangerous.

The safest, free public transport and you can walk the city alone at all times !
Posted: January 3, 2025Luxembourg is probably the safest country in Europe. Never felt unsafe there even when walking alone drunk at night ! Men are usually not insistent at all even in night clubs ! Men around the main train station can stare and be loud but just need to ignore them

I felt safe, it was amazing to see all the palaces and quiet streets in the middle of winter. In summer the atmosphere and landscape would be definitely better though. Food was amazing and public transport is free and comfortable!

im living in leuven, belgium so luxembourg was just a few hours away by train, we decided to do a day trip there and we loved it, the weather was amazing which was a nice surprise and all the transports there are free which we appreciated, it has a nice equilibrium between the city part and nature and there is a lot of portuguese people and cafes, for us it was nice since we are all portuguese amd are living abroad it felt like a reminder or home
