Really nice city with great views, felt safe and enjoyed free transportation and museums. Haven’t tried local food unfortunately but the prices were quite high. Been to Vianden castle too it really is worth it
Posted: January 13, 2026Luxembourg City is a beautiful city, full of history and vibrant energy. I went with a friend and we had a great time. The public transportation is free, and you can go around the whole place with it. We happened to be there on a holiday weekend, so there were concerts, activities, and events throughout the whole place. We even saw the Grand-Duke! It is a very expensive city, but it's worth the visit.
Posted: July 23, 2025Experienced: May, 2025I felt safe, it was amazing to see all the palaces and quiet streets in the middle of winter. In summer the atmosphere and landscape would be definitely better though. Food was amazing and public transport is free and comfortable!

im living in leuven, belgium so luxembourg was just a few hours away by train, we decided to do a day trip there and we loved it, the weather was amazing which was a nice surprise and all the transports there are free which we appreciated, it has a nice equilibrium between the city part and nature and there is a lot of portuguese people and cafes, for us it was nice since we are all portuguese amd are living abroad it felt like a reminder or home

Fairly safe, especially during the day. Stay away from the Hamilius and Gare area during the evening or night time when it comes to the capital of the country, I’m not saying something will surely happen but it has a reputation for odd characters , junkies, and occasionally worse happenings
Posted: April 26, 2026Sorry- earlier i meant to click “very Safe” and ended up choosing very unsafe. Don’t know how to modify that. But yeah, i find Luxembourg very safe with ofc the central station area to avoid at night as might be the case for any central station area around the world…
Posted: March 10, 2026I find Luxembourg to be very safe. To be cautious around the Central station area at night… but that’s all since i guess it’s the same around any central station around the world. Public transportation available till midnight in the city with late night buses available on Friday and Saturday nights
Posted: March 10, 2026It is a safe walkeable city with free public transportation. I have lived here for the past four years and never felt unsafe. The Gare neibourghood is to avoid at night, but overall it is a safe city.
