Since Rezekne is a smaller cityx the crime rate is definitely not as high. However, as a young woman I do feel very alert and a bit worried about being harassed on the street, even by sexual comments, catcalling etc. Physical attacks by strangers are rare in the city, but, of course, night time is the most dangerous time of day and precautions are necessary in order to avoid any danger.
