LOVED GALWAY (even more than Dublin). It was super fun without feeling like just another city. Lots to do and the people were awesome. Irish pubs are the best everywhere, especially in Galway! Would 1000 percent recommend going.
Posted: June 26, 2025I spend a year in Ireland as I did an exchange year, it was clearly the best year of my life ! And Galway became my favourite city... I feel like Irish people are so nice and polite, I felt very safe ! You can walk from the city center to the beach, it's a really nice walk and not that long but the water is freezing ! During Christmas time there is a Christmas market and it's relatively nice, it's really pretty but I didn't like the food..

I fully recommend to go to Galway, and Ireland in général it's really amazing. The people there are really nice, and you feel really safe and welcoming with all the locals. I also recommend to go to the cliffs of moher, it's really worth it.

Galway city was one of the most loveliest places I've ever visited. Very easy to travel to most places by foot and lots of delicious food Everyone is super friendly and it felt very safe Most places weren't expensive

First things first, I had a great time in Galway. However I did not experience the night life so can't say much about that. During the day I felt completely safe, I did not travel alone but I was alone at times but did not worry one bit. I was in the cutest boba store ever, ate Asian cuisine in Ireland, which to be honest I did not expect to actually find and saw picturesque sights✨

Galway is a very safe city. People are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed, so it’s easy to feel comfortable here. Even at night, the streets are generally calm and secure, which makes Galway a great place to stay.

It’s the safest city I’ve ever been to be honest, but being a woman is not safe enough in any place sadly. I feel like there might be some areas that I would avoid at night but not for dangerous people rather than being completely empty, that makes me insecure in any place. But overall I always go back by foot to my place at anytime and feel really really safe

It’s changing slowly but overall after spending 4 years at college there I’ve never felt unsafe. Maybe it’s not the best idea to walk home in the dark at night. I can say I’ve done it many times and never felt unsafe doing so
Posted: August 11, 2025Galway is technically a city, but in reality, it is just a large town easily accessible and to find your way around. People are very friendly and helpful, and there is a real sense of community. I have lived here 8 years and have never had a spot of trouble
Posted: June 3, 2025A lovely place to stay and live, generally safe overall but like any city or area vigilance is key, particularly in certain areas on the outskirts of the city where it can be a bit rough but and occupancies of crime are petty or provoked not random

Hi! I’m Jael, a Spanish girl that moved to Galway on May. You might be asking, why would a Spanish person move to Galway? Well yea that’s a really nice question, I’m afraid I don’t have an answer yet as I haven’t got out of my home because there is something like liquid falling from the sky, I don’t know what is it but looks scary. Joking apart! I’m a really active person that loves to meet and hang out with people. I’m always interested in any kind of plan and also organising them so, I would be happy to meet you! And I can also answer to the first question if you are interested, but only with a pint in our hands hehehe
