Cork is genuinely extremely safe for women. I have never felt unsafe or threatened, and I have never had any crime committed against me. I walk home alone at night often, and I have never had anything scary happen. I’m not saying it never happens to others, but that is not my experience.

Cork is relatively safe, the odd bollocks once in a while but most of the time it's sound. Maybe a bit better if you're in a group, especially at night. A bit of common sense and don't provoke the large groups who are doing to show off for their pals, and you'll be grand.
Posted: September 18, 2024It is generally safer than Dublin. But recent years got a bit uneasy but overall i have no problems. The public transport has more female drivers. It is generally a small city and not so much things to do. City gets quiet after 10 pm. Not so many night life as well.

in general it is a very safe city, just be mindful of a few guys walking around the city centre who might be under the influence. the public transport, while unreliable is also quite safe, but there might be some rubbish or loud music around
Posted: June 4, 2024Being in Cork feels safe and comfortable! However I am conscious of the rise of the far-right and related violence. At night, people are often consuming a lot of alcohol or other substances, which makes me try to stay away from men if I am alone.

I’m a solo traveler looking for unique experiences and the hidden gems that only locals know about. I love walking around new places, trying local food, and discovering new vibes. Always open to great conversations and connecting with like-minded people who appreciate the beauty in the small, unexpected moments of a city. If you’re up for exploring off-the-beaten-path spots, I’m your girl!
