I think it’s quite safe here. Usually I won’t worry about someone rob my phone when I’m walking on the street. I have been here for 3 months and never met something horrible even I once went home at midnight. Most of people are friendly and kind here, maybe sometimes need to worry about teenagers? I heard about that they will hit strangers, but I haven’t met.
Posted: December 10, 2024Dublin in general is very safe. But the crime is getting higher in the last couple of years. I recommend always walk with someone, specially night time in the city center. Public transport is great. Ok.
Posted: August 6, 2024Dublin is a great city people are very nice however there is racism, in certain areas of the town. But over all the teens are the ones causing trouble or else things are quite safe. As an ethnic minority I do get scared sometimes but it’s only in certain areas of the city and not everywhere

I love Dublin, is safe, but in the south of the city, the city centre is starting to be robbed, teenagers attack strangers. I feel safe on the bus and at night but in specific areas in the south, the north is not.
Posted: July 9, 2024Truthfully, since the recent riots, all I see is more hate on the streets from locals. They seem to not like immigrants here but I am also black so I worry more than a white skin immigrant. That being said, the city remains vibrant and majority of older people keep smiling but their teenagers seem to be high on whatever God knows.
Posted: July 4, 2024Like most cities now a days - things feel a bit unsafe! Be careful, and be mindful. In saying that, there are wonderful people here of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Be mindful of racists/homophobes/dodgy men because the world has gone weird with he rise of such people
Posted: June 22, 2024In the suburbs, it's very safe. In the city centre during the day as well. I have walked home at night in company with no issues. I guess that there are areas that are sketchy, but you just need a bit of common sense.
Posted: June 1, 2024City centre at daytime is alright, definitely was better few years ago. Many junkies and thieves ruined image of capital. Just stick to crowed and open places, keep your phone and bag firmly and there's nothing to worry.People are nice and helpful so feel free to ask anything you need.
Posted: May 22, 2024I think Dublin is very safe for female travellers if you stick to basic safety procedures. Stay in well-lit-up areas, grab a taxi if feeling unsafe, keep up to date with local news. Dublin has a good transpired system

People are good here. I have been living in Ireland for the past 24 years, I was never assaulted or harassed. There are some delinquents teenagers from north of the city , they sometimes cause trouble but really it is rare that a tourist is involved. I particularly stick to the south of the city because I feel the atmosphere is nicer.

Amazing holiday, overpriced but still loads of fun activities to get upto, like the Guiness tour. The pubs are amazing but overpriced. I would avoid going to the typical touristy pubs in the winter months as they are packed!!
Posted: November 11, 2024Experienced: November, 2021My experience in Dublin was verry positive. The city is a great place for solo travelers and the people are verry friendly. I can really recomend going hiking along the coast, if you can. The night live in Dublin is great but I do not recomend going alone (I went with someone else)
