Mostly safe but a lot of people with drug problems. Avoid groups of teenagers as there are many antisocial teenage gangs in Dublin who harrass tourists and others. Stick to busy well-lit streets and take a taxi if it's late at night. Ask for help if you need it, most people will help you
Posted: July 9, 2025I feel people in Dublin are truly friendly and would like to offer you a hand when you have problems. I’ve been living here for six months and so far I did not get any assaulted or harassment. Life here might be a little bit quiet compared to the other major city in Europe, but I will say the pace here is really friendly to traveler.
Posted: July 9, 2025Mostly safe but keep general street smarts about you. Some parts of city centre may become slightly unsavoury after dark, but in general no worries walking around at night (while buses are running). Although of course like all big cities there are some some streets to be wary of
Posted: July 8, 2025I’ve only lived in south Dublin, I can say it’s a very peaceful and nice neighborhood, I’ve only ever been not sure abt my safety because I’m a women and I know I’m never 100% safe and have experienced SA somewhere else

Overall, I feel Dublin is quite safe. It definitely is a city and crime (like theft) happens. There are also homeless/addicted people, but they don’t bother you. Just be aware of your surroundings and the places you go. I’ve never felt unsafe, and I’ve walked home last at night. Be smart with your belongings. Don’t have valuables in easy to pick pockets of your clothes/bags.
Posted: June 24, 2025As someone living in Dublin, I’d say it’s generally a safe city. You do get some petty crime, especially around busy central spots, but violent crime isn’t common. Just stay aware like you would anywhere.

Dublin was great! Sabrina actually asked me to be her girlfriend in Phoenix Park, so it has a special place in my heart. 💜 We didn’t do much outside the Temple Bar area, we tattooed there so we didn’t explore much more of Dublin. If you go, plan ahead and leave 2 days max for the pubs and Temple Bar, that’s plenty of time to see everything. We found food and drinks very expensive there, and didn’t enjoy much of the nightlife. Also we did see a lot of people begging/high on the streets but we felt very safe the entire time (as brazillians this is not too shocking for us). The metro is really confusing but all of the trains are really new and fast, it’s not the cheapest but it’s worth it.

I felt fairly safe in Dublin especially with a groupe but I wouldn't recommend going too far north. Otherwise there are cops around town who are there to help. The city is very expensive especially accommodation wise. The food is fine, maybe not very local but it's good
