I was in Dublin for two weeks because if the Erasmus projekt in my school. I lived in a host family near Dublin, about 30 minutes by train from the city centre. I realy enjoyed it and felt save even when i was on my way home at 12am
Posted: December 7, 2025Experienced: May, 2025I did a solo travelling trip to Dublin in July! Stayed at Clink i Lar hostel which was very lovely with its central location, common spaces, private curtains beds. The hostel was very commercialised though and didn’t feel as warm and friendly as other places I’ve stayed. I did a walking tour, went to the National Leprechaun Museum, did James Joyce Ulysses walking tours and more! It is definitely a lovely location to solo travel too and at the right hostel you can meet people and go to pubs - I definitely recommend Dublin!
Posted: August 29, 2025Experienced: June, 2025I stayed a little over a month in irland and dublin was one of the places i often revisited during that time (I stayed in a village near dublin). Overall I can say that I really like that city. It’s quite small and compact but for a solo travel it has good activities and really cute shops around. I would totally revisit some day.

Dublin was... good. I had a fun time, especially with a group of friends—it’s definitely one of those places where the people you’re with make the trip. That said, it didn’t feel like there was a ton to do. We hit the usual spots, wandered a lot, and honestly spent a fair bit of time just trying to figure out what was worth seeing. My favorite part by far was the Book of Kells experience—super atmospheric, actually lived up to the hype, and made my little history-nerd heart happy. If you're into books, vibes, or just pretending you're in a fantasy novel, it’s worth it. Would I go back? Probably not.

Generally safe, with some cases of racially motivated violence. Teens can be a nuisance at times towards people of colour. Theft is not very common as compared to some other tourist areas in Europe. People are kind.
Posted: December 16, 2025Dublin is a European city, safer than others, but with many drug addicts and young kids committing minor crimes and picking on people. I would avoid certain zones, especially at night, like around the main train stations and Tallaght. The South areas (Rathmines, Ranelagh) are generally safer.
Posted: October 13, 2025I would prefer to be out during the day than during the night. Unfortunately people in the city are becoming more racist because of social/political opinions. I would recommend speaking English where possible to avoid racial abuse in public as people have been targeted when speaking a different language.

I find Dublin city to be very safe as I was raised in the city There are some areas where there are higher crime rates that I wouldn’t walk alone, due to possible anti social behaviour but I’m very aware of these areas

Safe I don’t know But there are a lot of homeless and drug addicts all over the city. They don't do anything, they don't move, but they're always there. Some neighborhoods suck more than others, especially in the north.

Hey, I’m Pauline! I’ve been living on the Dublin side for 7 years now, with my little adventure buddy, Livaï (3 years old), who always tags along on my journeys. Before settling here, I traveled quite a lot, lived in England and France, and visited most countries in Europe. I love meeting new people, sharing stories, and connecting over my passions — music, writing, animals, and nature. Horse riding and anything that brings me closer to the earth are my favorite escapes. Life with a little one keeps me busy, but whenever we can, we love to get away from the city (or even from Ireland) to explore new places and meet friends. I live in a cozy apartment and would be happy to share my sofa for a night or two with fellow travelers. ✨ Come meet us — we’re always up for new connections and adventures!
