On my experience Dublin is safe place. I’m here only 5 months, but I don’t have any situation where I need to worry about my safety. It’s beautiful city, I spent most of time outside with other people, but I walking alone every night from work and it’s always was safety for me.
Posted: February 5, 2025It's pretty good. Just don't take shortcuts, do drugs or walk down small streets at night or dark alleys. There are some LGBT+ hate crimes on occasion. Overall quite pleasant and safe. I would recommend visiting with a friend.
Posted: February 2, 2025Alleyways in the city center can be rough. There is a homelessness problem, but it is mostly a safe place with friendly people who can help you if needed. There is lots of culture, architecture, and good food, and the further you go from the city center, the more nature you'll find in Ireland.
Posted: January 13, 2025Dublin City Centre is naturally less safe than the outer more urban areas. There are problems with homelessness, some violence and lots of people going around intoxicated after hours. But in comparison to places like England, knife crime is much lower here and once you stay in the right areas when bright, you should be okay.
Posted: January 2, 2025Depending on the area that you want to go, Dublin can be really safe and you wouldn’t have to worry about walking around with revealing clothes with your phone in your hands. I would say that the city centre in the southside is the safest place in my opinion when it comes to woman walking alone.
Posted: January 2, 2025Dublin is primarily safe for women. I would say there is a slight increase in discrimination rising in recent months but as a tourist i really don’t think it will effect you. It is a safe city, the Irish people are kindest and most helpful. The only problem you will ever face will be with illegal immigrants ( speaking so by experience ). There are parts of Dublin City centre that I won’t recommend a solo girl traveller to visit at night time but overall it’s a pretty safe city.
Posted: December 30, 2024Dublin feels regularly safe throughout the day but sometimes after dark can feel a little more dicey. This is completely dependent on area and time of evening. Comparably to other European cities I’ve visited it doesn’t feel either one of the most dangerous or safest.
Posted: December 26, 2024It’s overall safe, especially before dark, the city center is almost always crowded. There are travelers groups in the city center, many homeless people, many drug addicts. People doing drugs in the city center. I would avoid getting outside the local area after it gets dark.
Posted: December 25, 2024Dublin City is quite a safe space but it does depend on the areas. the City center is busy but relatively safe for women during the day and even the evenings. There are neighborhoods that aren't as safe but that is the same across any city in Europe

I think it’s quite safe here. Usually I won’t worry about someone rob my phone when I’m walking on the street. I have been here for 3 months and never met something horrible even I once went home at midnight. Most of people are friendly and kind here, maybe sometimes need to worry about teenagers? I heard about that they will hit strangers, but I haven’t met.

Amazing experience ! One of my first Couchsurfing and it was incredible ! We had the chance to be here for the gay parade and it was really wonderful experience ! We had chance to discover different part of the city and enjoy the real Ireland vibe ! From Dublin you can take train 20 min to small village in the cost it’s really amazing I recommend ! We had feeling safe all the trip but was little surprise how it’s work here with nightlife, lot of people drunked , bar and club close early and all the bus and taxi was reserved so if I can suggest to don’t wait for the last minute to go home ;)

I loved this experience ! It was the first time for me to go really solo somewhere. I travelled before with school but I always knew someone (teacher ou students). Here I was solo. I took my time, slept in hostel. Everything was perfect. I did everything that I wanted. Very nice

Hi, I'm an arts student currently taking a gap year. I love arts, crafts and thrifting. I really like my city so I'm happy to spend a little time showing people around. I'm pretty broke most of the time lol. I'm often described by others as creative, nice, kind, funny and smart. I'm a Christian and very allergic to peanuts
