Tbilisi is generally a safe city, and I feel comfortable using public transport or walking in the streets during the day. While it’s natural to feel a bit uneasy in dark or isolated areas, this isn’t unique to Tbilisi—it’s just common sense to avoid such places. In general, there’s no need to be afraid of being robbed or assaulted in public. Also, I must mention that people are so kind, generous here and everyone will help you if you need any assistance.
Posted: October 9, 2024I would say that Tbilisi is generally safe city to walk around at night, the streets are well-lit and police cars patrol every now and then. Of course, you should always be careful not to walk in the outskirts and not well-lit areas during the night, as there's higher risk of getting robbed or beaten. Transportation is very safe, but please be careful in the taxies - sometimes the drivers really make you super uncomfortable. Other than these, just take basic precautions when visiting Tbilisi and take care of yourself.
Posted: August 10, 2024Tbilisi is a pretty safe city to live in and to visit. Compared to other big European cities there’s less theft and pickpockets for example. it is pretty safe as well for solo female travelers, you might just experience flirting from random men but they’re never insistent and you can just ignore them. Overall it’s a pretty safe place.

In Tbilisi I usually feel safe because I look Georgian. Even if I walk around at night alone, I feel safer than at home in Sydney. The most problems I experienced from a couple of Taxi drivers who were persistent in asking me out, even though I told them I have a boyfriend. Men here do like to stare, but they wouldn't do anything. Some would politely ask me out in person on the street. However, the situation is different for other girls. Indian and African (black girls) told me that they were harassed by local men while in the shopping mall, or when going out at night.

Overly Tbilisi is safe in daytime but definitely not at night. Girls / women use taxi at night, we don’t go out alone. It could be safe in some districts but I’m usually more scared of dogs at night as well as men 😂 Dogs are kinda aggressive at night . Always close your pockets and bags in metro. Bus are more safe . Be aware of beggars, some of them like to spit on you, but thats very seldom. I usually don’t recommend tbilisi to solo travelers

Tbilisi is a vibrating city with many beautiful places to explore. We really liked the old town, but went to see the less frequent neighbourhoods as well where we also felt safe and comfortable. People are usually nice, and we had several good expreience with transportation (quick answers to our emails, helpful people at public transport etc). Public transport was clean and easy to use. We used marshrutka to travel to Gori, and it was quite easy and safe to do that. To travel to Kutaisi Airport we used Georgian bus, it was easy to book tickets and the bus arrived in time to the Airport. Food was delicious there, even as a vegetarian I was always able to find nice and tasty options. Nature was unbelievably beutiful around us, but unfortunately we hadn’t had enough time to explore the mountens of Georgia, so it is on our bucket list now. The only place where I felt a little bit uncomfortable was the train station, but we arrived at 1:00 AM with a train from Yerevan and that time the station was very empty, so we have caught a taxi quickly (I should add that I’m not a brave person overall, so this can influence my experience). We went back to see the station at daylight and we had a very different experience with it that time.
Posted: September 2, 2024Well, the city is really safe, but here's a lot of homeless people who are asking for money. But views are gorgeous everywhere in tbilisi. Also, if you have some health problems or you are not used to walking, be careful as there're hills everywhere, and it was kinda hard to walk, especially in summer when it's 35° outside
