I felt very safe in Baku. The city overall felt very clean and since I was Turkish there were no language gap for me. I met new people and they were all very nice and respected. The food and sightseeings were amazing. There are many different things to do in here.

It was good; the food was amazing. I felt safe because it’s a Muslim country, and the people are good. Azerbaijan has beautiful nature, and what I love most are the food and the people. Baku is also beautiful; the night view of Baku is amazing.

Its indeed very disappointing to say that baku is not at all safe for women at night specially women who are travelling alone. Every men around you is obnoxious and would stare you as if he is going to rape you. Day 1 till day 5 most of the men i met were very vile and bad and all they would look at you as if they would rape you even try to eve tease you and if you revolt back they would make sure you learn a lesson for pointing out the inadequate behaviour of men towards you.

Best food in the Caucasian region. I felt completely safe all the time, the people are awesome and friendly! So many things to see, I loved the carpet museum the most, but the Mini Dubai feeling is incredible too!

Transportation was very simple and also cheap, so I downloaded the Bolt application for transportation. Azerbaijani food culture is very rich, I am sure you will like most of the restaurants. I went to a local restaurant called "Shirvanshah" and I liked it very much. There is also a very nice museum you can go to, its name is "Heydar Aliyev Center".

Baku is generally a safe city with low crime and welcoming locals. I have met female travelers and expats who often report feeling comfortable exploring the city, even in the evenings. As with any city, it’s best to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid poorly lit areas at night, and use trusted transportation apps or hotel-recommended taxis.
Posted: August 7, 2025Baku felt very safe for me whilst solo travelling there! Amazing city of old and modern! Highland park had incredible views overlooking the city and great photo opportunities I stayed in the old town which was so convenient and gorgeous to explore
Posted: June 15, 2025Baku is very safe, I walk around at night all the time and never felt not safe. Guys do not approach you or cat call you. Also public transport is safe to ride as well as taxi. So, woman should not be afraid of walking around alone.
Posted: May 24, 2025There are no problems with security here and there can be none. Everything is very comfortable. I haven't had any problems with this and I don't believe I will. People are caring and respectful. 👍👍👍
Posted: May 1, 2025I walked around in the evening, never got catcalled or even uncomfortable stares, felt very safe even in the small streets of the old town. People seem very caring especially about women travelling alone.
