It was good; the food was amazing. I felt safe because it’s a Muslim country, and the people are good. Azerbaijan has beautiful nature, and what I love most are the food and the people. Baku is also beautiful; the night view of Baku is amazing.

Its indeed very disappointing to say that baku is not at all safe for women at night specially women who are travelling alone. Every men around you is obnoxious and would stare you as if he is going to rape you. Day 1 till day 5 most of the men i met were very vile and bad and all they would look at you as if they would rape you even try to eve tease you and if you revolt back they would make sure you learn a lesson for pointing out the inadequate behaviour of men towards you.

Best food in the Caucasian region. I felt completely safe all the time, the people are awesome and friendly! So many things to see, I loved the carpet museum the most, but the Mini Dubai feeling is incredible too!
Posted: June 11, 2024Experienced: May, 2024Yes, I felt safe. I stayed in a small hostel, it was very cheap but not very clean. Transportation was very simple and also cheap, so I downloaded the Bolt application for transportation. Azerbaijani food culture is very rich, I am sure you will like most of the restaurants. I went to a local restaurant called "Shirvanshah" and I liked it very much. There is also a very nice museum you can go to, its name is "Heydar Aliyev Center".

I arrived to Baku through Ganja because the tickets are way cheaper than reaching Baku directly. Ganja is one of the historical cities in Azerbijan and you can enjoy one day wandering around the city then to head to Baku through the train, it takes around 3 hours and it was super comfortable and I advice you to get the tickets ahead of time. In Baku I stayed in Zamzam hotel and its very affordable hotel and close to the center. In Baku I personally found Bolt the best way to move around the city as its cheap and easy to use. I recommend Azerbijan for female solo travellers because its safe and you will enjoy each moment in there. The food, places and people all were great.
Posted: January 7, 2024Experienced: November, 2023Baku is stunning, pristine, well-maintained, with futuristic modern buildings and a very hospitable population. It is full of contrasts, with orthodox Muslim women on one hand, and on the other hand, there are liberal and free women dressed according to the prevailing atmosphere.
Posted: September 24, 2023I spent the entire week in Baku. I stayed in two different hotels, which cost me 33 dollars and 70 dollars per night. In total, I spent about 1200 dollars for the week. I booked three full-day tours directly and paid in cash, which was much cheaper than booking online. As a woman, I traveled alone and it was safe.
Posted: August 3, 2023I was in Azerbaijan for only a few days. I really loved the one-day trip to Gobustan (mud volcanoes, cave drawings, Yanardag, etc.) Bolt was very cheap, so I used it to get around.
Posted: July 23, 2023I went to Baku alone from Tbilisi (my first solo trip) and I really enjoyed it. Overall, I felt quite safe - I was followed by a few child pickpockets on the promenade, but this phenomenon is common in many cities. A large part of Baku reminds me of Europe, with a slightly oriental touch, and everything is easy to explore on foot (I walked around on my own and it was fine). I recommend using Uber or Bolt in Baku, as taxi drivers there try to cheat people.

Overall, Baku is a safe city. If you stay in crowded areas, there’s nothing to worry about. Being alone late at night might feel a bit unsafe, but during my time living in Baku, I haven’t encountered any negative situations.
Posted: February 11, 2025I think Baku is safe. People are harmless. They dont will hurt you physically. But maybe you can face some aggressive ones. Thats okey. They still cannot do anything to you. Other people always there for helping you about problems. You can ask questions on streets.

I've always been someone who loves pushing my limits and trying new things. One of the most thrilling experiences I've had was skydiving – the rush of jumping out of a plane and free-falling was indescribable! I've also tried bungee jumping, which was equally exciting. I have a deep appreciation for nature, so I often go camping and hiking, immersing myself in the great outdoors. Besides, I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and trying new foods, which has enriched my life with diverse experiences and perspectives. These adventures have taught me a lot about myself and the world around me, and I'm always excited for the next opportunity to try something new.
