Group travel experience

Bled was a perfect hiking experience! Beautiful sights around the lake for everyone who likes shorter or longer walks. The people were extremely friendly and helpful, even children spoke fluent English. Renting a bike is surprisingly cheap.

Local experience

In Bled, don't miss the Vintgar Gorge, which has a path around it, so it's an easy walk and absolutely beautiful (the color of the water is astonishing!). Nearby is Lake Bohinj, which I think is more beautiful than Bled. You can simply take a bus there. You can also take a bus, or even better, join a day trip that goes through the Vršič Pass to Bovec and the Soča River, where there are plenty of "adventure" activities, such as zip lines, rafting, etc., as well as gentler walks to see the river and valley. The Vršič Pass itself is interesting and worth doing, even if you're not the adventurous type. It has 50 hairpin turns (24 uphill, 26 downhill), each with spectacular views and a charming chapel to visit (commemorating Russian prisoners who died building the road). One-day tours will certainly be available when you get to Bled.
