About me

I am Levke (she/her), 23 years old and I study International Relations and Social Sciences (B.A.) in Erfurt. I am quite a political person, love to read, play games, crochet, and learn languages - really nerdy when it comes to those. I am active in environmental engagement, šŸ‰ P activism, and a queer feminist collective. At the moment I live in Sarajevo researching for my thesis and then Iā€™ll probably go back to Lebanon for a while doing an internship. I am vegetarian but actually vegan mostly and love to cook and try new things. Walking, going for coffee or grabbing a drink with friends are also part of daily life as Iā€™m a pretty social person!

Solo travel experience

Really enjoyed Sarajevo. It is such an interesting city with an incredibly tragic history. It felt so safe as a solo female traveller as the locals are so friendly! I recommend staying 3-4 nights as there is so much to do.

Solo travel experience

Sarajevo is such an underrated place. It has a lot of charm, and the people are very friendly. I participated in several activities, such as a trip to Mostar. I also visited an abandoned bobsleigh track. There is so much amazing history there, and the food was incredible. I felt safe, but I'm not overly interested in nightlife, so I had dinner and returned to my Airbnb.

Local experience

In Sarajevo, you can see the most in just a few days. I suggest participating in the Funky Tour to get a good overview of the Balkan war and the Siege of Sarajevo. The city has many excellent restaurants - my favorites are Klopa and Dveri. Take the cable car up to Trebevic and take a walk there. In the city, spend time in Bascarsiji and explore the small streets, visit some of the museums.
