George Town is a safe city, as long as you practise basic safety and common sense. Don't walk alone in dark alleys, don't leave things unattended, check local customs in the specific area. For example, some places are okay for you to walk around with a sports bra and in some places you'd cover up. Carry your bags on the opposite side from the road, there are snatch thiefs around. Don't be intoxicated alone in public. Public busses are okay but cover up. Use grab app, never take taxis. It's fun to travel solo but don't tell people you are. Say you have a local friend and are visiting :)
