Copenhagen's one of the best cities for solo traveling - I was there last summer and had the best time! Atelier September and Apotek 57 are great brunch spots (also really liked Reffen the street food market). The actual highlight for me was Louisiana (about half an hour from Copenhagen by train). It’s a wonderfully diverse museum with both very modern and archeological parts. The outside sculpture is as good as the inside - and the building itself melds into the landscape.
I went to Copenhagen last month. It was very beautiful and I was amazed how every house and building was built with such good taste and color contrast. Also loved how everyone was riding bicycles, that's so good for the environment. The only thing that was a bit weird to me is that while everything was in ideal order, I didn't see much emotion on people's faces.
Just got back from Copenhagen. The city (& the airport) are super easy to navigate. The metro is easy to use. The stops are in Danish but there’s a map and you can count the stops. Also, everyone is bilingual so you can easily ask for help. I found everyone to be friendly and willing to point me in the right direction.
I stayed at the generator hostel which was great. Cheap (at least for Copenhagen) and perfect location. I walked a lot and did a boat tour to get an overview of the city. I really liked Copenhagen but was also surprised how expensive food and drinks are there!
Loved Copenhagen and felt very safe there. The city is super easy to navigate and everyone speaks English. I visited Nyhavn, The Round Tower, and Christiansborg Palace and highly recommend them all. For food, I would recommend Cafe Oscar, Pincho Nation and Nyhavn 37 (a little overpriced).
I really liked climbing the stairs to the top of Church of Our Savior. Most of the steps are inside and the last steps are on the exterior. A little iffy if you don’t like heights but the views of Copenhagen from the top were amazing. I also really liked the botanical gardens. The Palm Houses there were stunning. Also I stayed at CityHub which is technically a hostel but you have your own “room” which is essentially just a bed and a small space where you can stand. But I loved it there and even though the bathrooms were communal they were clean and very modern/nice. Was a short walk from the metro/subway station.
I went on a free walking tour on my first day there and meet with a local who was very helpful (we met through Couchsurfing). I also did a free tour on Christianshavn. I walked pretty much everywhere wasn’t too bad to do that at all. I stayed in the Urban House and it was in a good location to get to everything I needed. The food was expensive and I live in London and I was still amazed how much things were.
Copenhagen is beautiful and there's plenty to do and see, but I did find it expensive (in 4 days I spent more than in 10 days in Portugal on the same trip).
