I was in Copenhagen in February 2024 abd it was literally freezing. Most of my time was spent in cafes to drink something hot. Even though the city is incredible. Lots of bikers around there, you need to be careful even if you are pedestrian. I spent 3 bights in there and i never felt uncomfortable and it was really safe.

Posted: April 16, 2024As a female traveller Copenhagen is a dream. It's easy to connect with fellow travellers in a hostel and you never feel like you're in a dangerous situation as the streets are so safer. Really recommend 'Politically Incorrect walking Tours' and their accompanying bar crawl. learned and laughed a lot.

Copenhagen was one of my favorite cities I’ve been to! Stayed in Next House hostel which was a great social hostel. Highly recommend Politically Incorrect Walking Tours. I did their highlights tour and their hidden Copenhagen tour. Both were awesome and I met a bunch of solo travelers that I spent more time with throughout the trip. Super safe city, highly recommend!

Copenhagen rocked! I travelled with my partner and it felt totally safe with tons to do. Super walkable and beautiful city :) We went to Christiania Freetown for a day and also walked along Nyhavn. It was a little expensive but not too crazy.

I had a wonderful time in Copenhagen! I was there for 3 weeks for a short study abroad course and was really able to make the most of my time there. I felt extremely safe during my time there. No cat calling, heckling, harassment, etc. even late at night. I was out multiple times by myself or with my friend (also female) and felt 100% safe. There were plenty of things to do and see in Copenhagen. Lots of fun vintage shops. They were pricey but fun to explore. Lots of shopping and beautiful architecture (there were tons of beautiful cathedrals). I would definitely recommend Rosenberg castle! 10/10 Nyhavn was also very fun! The houses were beautiful and it was nice to walk along the harbor. They’re was plenty of variety for food and restaurants but if you’re really on a budget and have access to a kitchen/kitchenette, I would recommend buying some groceries and eating in. The food quality was great but very expensive especially for dine in restaurants. If you’re looking for some delicious Thai cuisine, check out Rice Market that’s a few blocks from Norreport Station. The best I’ve had! Love the seafood curry! The public transport was fairly inexpensive and easy to learn and use. Get a rejesekort transportation card and it’s a breeze to get around. My accommodations were covered in my tuition fee for my study program so I can’t speak on places to stay and their affordability. During my 3 weeks I spent about $1,500 USD on transportation all over the city and the island of Amager, food, activities, souvenirs, miscellaneous. This includes my transportation to my place of study which I had to attend 5 days a week. I also explored a lot of the surrounding cities and towns outside of Copenhagen so I did spend a fair amount on just traveling and exploring. Overall, I had a wonderful experience in Copenhagen and will definitely visit again soon!

The city of Copenhagen is stunning by itself, it’s very sophisticated, clean and friendly. The weather can be a mess somethimes - gloomy very often, this is one of the reasons why, as a sensitive person to this stuff, wouldn’t recommend to go solo, as I felt kinda lonely or sadish on this trip even tho it was amazing in the way of the activities and experience I have. Things to do - for me, this trip was to learn how to calm down and don’t plan every step I do, so I actually don’t have any itinerary, however see Pinterest for quick recommendation, see Youtube vlogs for a more detailed recos, if you have more time. However, looking back now, I definitely think that going to the beach a bit further from the centre is such a great thing to do. Thrifting is very popular in these northern counties and you can find beautiful clothes and accessories indeed, just keep on mind that Copenhagen is pricey, at least for our, Czech rate. On the “more typical tourist note” I recommend you to buy a ticket to a commented cruise through the cannals of Copenhagen and sea, it takes just around an hour and is worth every coin in my opinion. The views and everything. And you get in and off right in the centre of the city. Oceanium was absolutely beautiful and cute spot. It’s right next to the airport, so in my case, I went there to hide from the rain, but it turned out as an wonderful experience. And mainly walking and biking around the streets, randomly, is the best thing you can do, connected with coffee shops, bistros and local shops runs. Q12 Coffee And Eatery, H. U. G. Bakery, Darcy’s Coffee, Sidecar, Pico, Andersen & Maillard, Bistro Verde. These are just few, but fabulous places of food/coffee I really adore. I also have a list of many other place, that I haven’t been to, but are surely amazing. I stayed in a hostel called Sleep in Heaven. Unfortunately I can’t recommend you this one. I didn’t feel good, staying in there. The layout, beds, space, bathrooms, people, and just the vibes in there weren’t mine. The great thing was the possibility to rent a bike for a small amount for the whole day, this I appreciated so much. For the budget including everyhing, I thing I spend around 500 or 600€. The means of transport are fine in Copenhagen, however the bike is best option for me always. However buses are running on time in there, but I found it very difficult to understand the routes etc. And, if I’m right, they might not go to some parts of the centre. So waliking and biking is key for me.
Posted: December 28, 2023Copenhagen is generally super safe and it's very beautiful. Denmark has a reputation for being super unwelcoming, and supposedly it's hard to make friends. This isn't necessarily true it's just that, first you gonna have to do the approaching and, second the people that are interested in talking are probably not the people you wanna make friends with. If you really wanna talk to people I really do recommend night life, you don't necessarily have to be drunk but Danes do. Obviously there are areas that are less safe but even those are pretty damn safe. If you feel worried just keep to yourself and you'll be fine. Things in Denmark are pretty expensive like most other eu countries, so just be prepared for that. For transportation there is an app called rejseplanen which I really recommend. Basically you just write your location, where you want to go, and what time you wanna be there. The app then shows you all possible public transportation routes and connections.
Posted: November 9, 2023Experienced: April, 2021Copenhagen was the place where I went on my first solo trip, and it was a great choice. The city is very pedestrian-friendly, with so many things to see. I loved Torvehallerne for the food, mainly breakfast and lunch (Smørrebrød and Grød were my two favorite stalls). I highly recommend renting a bike and riding around the city, just like the Danes do.
Posted: November 7, 2023I travelled alone to Copenhagen for my first solo trip and I felt so safe. I stayed in a completely female dormitory in a hostel, where I made friends to spend time with in the evenings, so I was never alone at night, but during the day, I felt very safe walking alone. Even at night, it was safe, but it's probably best to avoid being alone when it's late. It was expensive, but I ate at food markets most of the time.
