The city itself was kinda safe, but it was necessary to avoid some shady parts of the city. In the dark, there were some groups shouting on the streets, probably drunken tourists. I personally went to Christiania, which, to a solo traveler, felt sometimes scary. I got cat called once there. But it seemed like a group of male tourists who went there just to get high.

I love Copenhagen! And me and my friends had the best time! We never felt uncomfortable or unsafe I would recommend reffen, the food and the vibe are just amazing! And I would also recommend to just to walk everywhere or take the subway.
Posted: March 3, 2025Copenhagen is a beautiful and very safe city. I recommend seeing as much as possible and trying the cinnamon rolls and kardamomo rolls. I stayed in a hostel with private bathrooms and a high-up view of Copenhagen. We got around on foot to see as much as possible and explore the city's hidden corners.
Posted: March 1, 2025Experienced: November, 2024Great place with a lot to do. Was for a couple of days and loved it. Great public transportation and felt very safe.. the only downside is that it can be quite expensive. At least 2 days are needed to see most of the city
Posted: February 24, 2025Traveling to Copenhagen was my very first solo trip. To be honest I did not expect to like the city, I couldn’t be more wrong. The city is beautiful, clean and safe. I’ve met amazing people there, they were friendly and helpful.
Posted: February 19, 2025We felt very safe and the city is beautiful, I would recommend renting a bike. The only thing you have to keep in mind is the weather as it can be extremely cold this early in the year. You should also consider the prices in Copenhagen cause Copenhagen is really expensive
Posted: February 16, 2025I can recommend the Andersen & Maillard bakery! I loved the sourdough buns with cheese. Also the generator hostel. If you don't find anybody to stay with, go there. They have only-female rooms. I loved it so much!
Posted: January 31, 2025Experienced: November, 2024I felt safe in Copenhagen. The nature and the buildings itself were amazing . I also really like the local people here. for the food, I couldn’t find anything interesting but I tried some local food ..
Posted: January 31, 2025Very nice city with lots of cultural stuff to do. I felt very safe and respected as a solo traveller. I met a lot of nice peoples in my hostel. We did things together and it was a grest experience for me travelling alone.

I was in Copenhagen before Christmas with a friend, the city was totally safe! But we felt like there are not much to do! Though we enjoyed the time we had there! From Xmas decorations, Tivoli gardens and we took a guided boat tour through the canals. We walked everywhere and only used the train from/to airport. We also went on a day trip to Malmö which I don't really recommend if you don't have plans what to do there! It was boring for us really! The food was great, especially the burgers and the cardamom pastries were so special! Also the vanilla cookies were amazing! We stayed at Steel House Hostel and got a room with views to the canals for 30 Euors a night! The hostel was very clean and provided great amenities for the price!

It is generally safe, but be aware of your surroundings and belongings. Someone might steal your phone or wallet, but I have personally never experienced it happening in a violent way. I have been followed by men or grabbed, but shouting loudly usually do the job.
Posted: March 24, 2025I have never felt that safe in any city I lived in or travelled to ! It is one of the country with the lowest level of criminality. I never heard of any risk living here, apart of having your bike stolen. However, I imagine that, like any place in the world, there is still sexual harassment and sexual abuse in some places here... But I didn't experienced it for now.

I'm curious (hey, I'm a woman, so that typical, I know!), I love to travel, but I can't do that all time, so I love to meet other travellers on my home turf. I have 3 master degrees, first in geology, then environmental management, and this year, I added law to the collection. I love to do practical things, so my husband and I partly build our house and our summer cottage. The difficult and important things like masonry, roof and windows, and plumbing were built by others. We did the rest. My husband died of cancer in 2022, but I have my son, daughter-in-law, and my grandson from January 2023 who have given me the appetite for life back from the very dark place I was in. Don't worry, I don't show pictures! My friends' ages range from 35 to 80, age is just a number ... I can talk with most people, I'm curious to learn about others, what make them tick, and learn from them. That's what I love about travelling. I live 8 km from Town Hall Square in a subsurb. Copenhagen is a small city but with many concerts and cultural events that I enjoy, but it's more fun with company.
