Safety:

Safety:Moderate

Ibague generally has a friendly atmosphere with welcoming locals. However, it's crucial to take precautions as in any city. It's advised to stay in well-populated areas, avoid traveling at night, and to be particularly cautious with your belongings to prevent petty theft incidents.
Transport:

Transport:Moderate

Ibague offers a balance of mobility for solo female travelers. Navigating around the city requires a little understanding of the geography as it's sophisticated but manageable. The city doesn't have a metro system but relies heavily on buses and taxis, making it essential to know some basic Spanish to communicate with drivers. While exploring on foot is quite possible, certain areas can be hilly so be prepared for a workout.
Things to do:

Things to do:Interesting

Ibague, often known as the 'Music City of Colombia', offers an array of cultural and recreational activities to engage in. Remarkable sights such as Combeima Canyon and Nevado del Tolima provide an opportunity for hiking and nature photography. The city is also peppered with music-themed art pieces which showcases its vibrant art scene. Numerous restaurants offer delectable Colombian cuisine, and coffee lovers will appreciate a visit to local coffee plantations to learn the ins and outs of coffee production. While it's not as bustling as the larger cities like Bogota or Medellin, its unique, music-oriented charms make it an attractive destination on its own.
Food:

Food:Above average

Ibague offers an appealing range of cuisine, from traditional Colombian dishes to more international flavors. Street food vendors sell tantalizing arepas, refreshing fruit juices, and other local specialties. There are also several upscale dining options where you'll find everything from authentic Italian to Japanese sushi. However, while there's diversity, it is not as extensive compared to larger Colombian cities like Bogota or Medellin.
Budget:

Budget:Affordable

Ibague is relatively budget-friendly, especially for solo female travelers. Accommodation can be found at affordable rates, whether it be a local guesthouse or a more upscale hotel. Food is also inexpensive where tasty local meals can be eaten at local markets and street food vendors. Public transportation, as well as taxis, are affordable and widely available. Major attractions are either free or have minimal entry fees. However, tourist-oriented activities such as guided tours tend to be on the pricier side. Hence, while not the cheapest destination, it offers good value for money for the cost-conscious solo traveler.

Ibagué is a not a big city thats why is kind of safe than bigger cities. I live in a good neighborhood so is very safe inside, I do recomend to use transportation apps like uber because public transportation is always full of people so is no confortable. Take care walking on dark and lonely streets, just for common sense.

Hola, me llamo Clara, tengo 30 años, soy abogada y me gusta viajar y conocer lugares y personas increíbles. -- Hi, My name is Clara, I´m 30 years old, I am a lawyer and I like to travel and enjoy incredible places and meet beautiful people. Every time I can I take the opportunity to go on a trip, retreat or rest in my country or abroad, sometimes with work it is not very easy, but since the pandemic I have been working remotely and it has been the best opportunity for me to travel. I´m very organized, friendly and I like to laugh a lot. I love dancing, what else can I say, it's in my blood, I love listening to music, but above all dancing so, if you are interested in some dance steps, I can teach you. I love nature, being outdoors, breathing, admiring, walking, running, swimming, feeling how nature embraces me. I also like watching movies, doing yoga and manual activities like handicraft.
