Traversing Placencia is relatively easy. The village is small enough to comfortably manoeuvre by foot, with a 4 mile-long pedestrian-only sidewalk built along the seashore, offering beautiful views. There are a couple of bike rental facilities for longer distances, and golf carts are quite popular too. Regardless, navigation might not be as smooth due to lack of road signs, but locals are always friendly and helpful in giving directions.

Placencia offers a rich variety of activities which overall secure an invigorating travel experience. You have numerous opportunities to indulge in the beauty of nature with activities such as snorkeling and diving in the Barrier Reef, exploring the Monkey River, and bird watching at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife sanctuary. Don't forget to visit ancient Maya archaeological sites. Food lovers will enjoy trying local cuisines at beachfront restaurants. However, depending upon personal preferences, some may find the town's nightlife a bit subdued.

Solo travel experience

Spent the week solo, relaxing indulging in spa, kayaking, biking and just frocking around and enjoying the beauty. It was my first time there, definitely, not my last. Super safe for solo female travelers.
