Couple travel experience

I was in Negril, Jamaica and it was one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. That being said, I was there with my girlfriend and Jamaica is a very homophobic place. If you’re straight, I think you’ll have no issues. Negril is a small town and pretty safe, although I caution against going out alone at night because men can be very aggressive.

Solo travel experience

Was just in Jamaica and I have to say that the sexual and otherwise harassment is very intense. Especially as someone who was there alone and not staying on resorts or all-inclusives. On the resorts it seems to be better.

Couple travel experience

Was not a fan of the Jamaican harassment. Sexual and vendor-wise. Super pushy and in your face. We didn’t stay at a resort but rather an Airbnb condo and walking around to get food and sight see was uncomfortable. Although, we were in Ocho Rios near where the cruise ships came and went, so that may have had something to do with it. Enjoyed the beach and the food. But if I ever went again it would be to a resort.
