Badulla is generally very safe during the daytime. Personally, in my 20 years of living there, I’ve never experienced any crime or unsafe situations, and I haven’t really heard of serious crime happening there either. During the day, you can move around freely without worry. At night, it’s a bit different. It’s not that it’s dangerous, but after around 10 or 11 p.m., the town becomes very quiet.
