Is Chisinau safe for solo female travelers?

Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Like any large city, it does have some issues with petty crime such as bag-snatching and pickpocketing, especially in crowded public areas, but these are typically no worse than in any other major city worldwide. Steps like keeping an eye on your belongings at all times and avoiding isolated areas at night can mitigate most risks. Violent crime is rare and police response is efficient. Furthermore, people are quite friendly and willing to help if needed.

Chișinău is a very safe city during day and night of course you will see homeless people and maybe somebody drunk at night might bother you but it’s usually not o problem we don’t have many crimes committed here and also I think it’s the safest city in Europe

Chisinau is quite safe for tourists, especially downtown during the day. Walk around calmly, just keep your bag in the front of the minibus. Avoid dark streets at night; use Bolt or Yandex. Minor thefts do happen, but they're not common. If anything happens, call 911, but usually they don't. it's generally safe. Just don't walk around remote areas at night.

I really love my country, and after living here for 18 years, I wouldn't say it's a very dangerous city or anything like that. Compared to other European countries, it's quite safe, and the people here are very friendly and helpful, especially if you're a tourist.

Hi, everyone! I wanna say a few words about Chishiau, the city which I visit often. It’s a normal city that I find even a bit boring for myself. It has very good places to eat, quite save means of transport and taxi. Of course as a woman I have instinctive fears about being robed and assaulted but every time I visit this place it is good and not dangerous, you just have to be careful as when you visit any other city with good safety level

Chisinau is actually quite a safe city. It’s generally very safe to walk around during the day, and even at night — although there are a few things to keep in mind. In some neighborhoods, it’s better not to walk alone, but if you're with company, it’s usually fine. The main and side streets are well-lit. Areas with the most tourists are always brightly lit and busy, especially in the evenings, so you can relax and not worry too much about your safety. As for taxis, there’s nothing major to worry about either, except for the occasional overly aggressive driver (rare, but it can...
