It's relatively safe. There are delusional men that would approach u with intentions, just don't show interest and they will go away. Rare cases they would be very insistent, so just act a bit rude and u good. In some public regions (parks/bus stations) there are alot of homeless and drunk people. But beside asking for cigarettes they are harmless

In general, it's pretty safe here. I didn't get into any trouble, but several friends told me that marginal individuals might envy your property (there are a lot of them here, but they are mostly peaceful). I recommend you do not behave loudly at night, as in any city
Posted: May 5, 2026Chișinău is a very safe city during day and night of course you will see homeless people and maybe somebody drunk at night might bother you but it’s usually not o problem we don’t have many crimes committed here and also I think it’s the safest city in Europe
Posted: January 22, 2026Chisinau is quite safe for tourists, especially downtown during the day. Walk around calmly, just keep your bag in the front of the minibus. Avoid dark streets at night; use Bolt or Yandex. Minor thefts do happen, but they're not common. If anything happens, call 911, but usually they don't. it's generally safe. Just don't walk around remote areas at night.

Hi girls! I’m Pascal and I live with my three-year-old Belgian Malinois 🦮 in a two-bedroom apartment, near the city centre of Chișinău, Moldova. I started travelling because of my work and discovered the beauty of people around the world. Now, I travel because I really enjoy discovering different cultures, architecture, and nature. If you notice my hair length changing in photos, it's because I like to experiment 😁
