Is Limerick safe for solo female travelers?

Limerick, is generally a safe and welcoming place for solo female travelers. As always, though, it's important to exercise sensible precautions. Limerick has a tight-knit community and is generally friendly to tourists. However, like any place, it can be unsafe at times. Avoid less crowded areas and walking alone late at night. Be mindful of your surroundings, especially while in city center areas. Theft and pick-pocketing can happen occasionally. Public transport is reliable and considered safe, but basic caution on late-night services is advisable.

If you stay in the right places and in a group you’ll be generally okay, keep the head up and mind yourself. My Mexican friends have experienced discrimination however and these people don’t hesitate to put hands on you- idk how common this is though. Do we really feel safe anywhere?

I have only lived here for a few months now, but I have felt relatively safe. I’ve had a couple of encounters with weird/creepy men at bus stops, but generally I feel pretty safe here! Walking around at night isn’t too bad. One thing to note is that the bus service stops around midnight.
