Is Sligo safe for solo female travelers?

Sligo generally provides a safe experience for solo female travelers. It is a friendly city with a warm and welcoming local population. Violent crime is relatively low. However, like any other place, it is still important to maintain basic safety precautions, like not roaming alone at late hours, staying in well-lit areas, and avoiding any unfamiliar locations.

Family travel

I felt extremely safe, it was Christmas time so the decorations and Christmas activities were on. About the food, the places I tried were nice, since the fast food to most fancy restaurants. The city is small so you can explore a lot walking and the streets and shops are beautiful to see. I stayed with family members so can’t say about hotel pricing. My staying has been really good so far!!

How safe is Sligo for women?

I live in Tubbercurry, quite a small town, about 35km away from Sligo, the next slightly bigger small town. Generally speaking both towns feel safe to me but of course just like everywhere else I would recommend not to walk isolated areas, particularly at times when there are no people around. Overall people are very friendly and helpful here.
