Is Pontianak worth visiting?

Is Pontianak safe for women?

Its generally a safe city but just like any other city you have to stay alert. I've personally been mugged before, they took my brand new phone. I feel safe walking alone around my house up to ±30 minutes away alone during daytime, but definitely not during night time. I don't travel by foot often as its not pedestrian friendly, and when i do walk i experience cat calling ocassionally.
