I stayed in an Air Bnb in West End. It was private, safe, and affordable. I went solo to scuba and it was awesome. The area had great night life. Also went to Gumbalimba Park which I had completely to myself because there were no cruise ships that day. I was able to eat vegetarian at several local restaurants. The people were incredibly kind. You meet travelers from all over the world. I felt unsafe only once when a man was catcalling me from his car. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Staying in Utila to do my Dive Master Training was a bit of a spontaneous decision and I am really happy everything went just as it did! It’s a tight knit community so it it extremely safe, even...

It is mostly safe, there are certain areas that you cannot go. Always stay alert but is a really nice place to be. Honduran people are really kind. Don't go around with your cellphone or valuables visible.
Posted: January 25, 2026Tegucigalpa is not the safest city for solo travelers, especially as women. Try to always find locals who you can trust for any advice. You can be in the roads as long as there’s daylight, try to avoid them during the night. Always be wary and you should be safe!
Posted: February 15, 2025La Ceiba is a city which I felt free to walk during the day with friends. At night when hanging out I didn't feel good to walk alone, it was ok if we were at least 3 and taking a trust taxi too but I wouldn't have been in all streets of La Ceiba.
