Is Bangladesh safe for solo female travelers?

Bangladesh can be a challenging destination for solo female travelers due to significant cultural differences and some safety concerns including occasional harassment and relatively high crime rates. Overall, while the locals are generally friendly, it's advisable to exercise caution, respect local customs and dress modestly to avoid unwanted attention. Personal safety can vary greatly depending on the area so it's important to research your destination and perhaps consider joining a guided tour for a safer experience.

Dhaka

Most peole are muslim in Dhaka. Here the culture it's different. I didn't stay too long to understand well the situation, but I never heard about someone that was robbed, but as a woman I don't feel safe to go around alone.

Dhaka

Moderate. Varies on the type of area. The richer areas for example, Gulshan or Banani is very safe especially while driving. Other parts of Dhaka is questionable for commuting. I personally think, the rural areas outside Dhaka are women friendly or safer.

Dhaka

Most places I go to tend to be safe but I still wouldn't consider every part of it safe for ladies. I think it's best to know someone local who could cross check the locations or places(clubs) in general that you plan on visiting for the safety tips and emergency law enforcement support informations.

Dhaka District

It is not safe during night after 10 pm for man and woman. So try to travel during day time. Public transport is not safe at night for woman at all. Don't talk to strangers. Not good for solo woman traveller.
