I traveled to Bangladesh to speak at a conference. There was some political demonstrations going on.while I was there because it was close to a big election and I was asked to stay in the hotel, however I did travel a bit and felt safe.
Posted: March 7, 2024Experienced: October, 2023It is not safe during night after 10 pm for man and woman. So try to travel during day time. Public transport is not safe at night for woman at all. Don't talk to strangers. Not good for solo woman traveller.
Posted: October 16, 2024It's not the safest place for tourism but it's relatively safe if you choose to settle with a local family. Colorism is quite prevalent here so if you're a fair skinned women, expect a lot of unwanted staring and looks from men. I would not recommend traveling here alone. The police are also quite unreliable so your best bet when you need help here would be friends who are locals or other acquaintances.
