I felt very save in Bariloche. I was on a backpacker budget, the hostels were very cheap, the restaurants are moderate pricey. I did a biketour which was nice, like that you can see a lot from the area.

I went in January with my best friend, and we rented an airbnb 6 blocks from the city center. One disadvantage is that the city is on a hill so it was a long way back to our place every time we went eating or out of the city. We felt really safe, although you have to be careful with the cars, we always kept an eye on our stuff. We moved around by bus (they called them “colectivos”) and for that we bought the card that allows you to move around. We bought one for the both of us and we had to put money in it. We went to colonia suiza one day, and the next day we went to cerro campanario and from there we went to different beaches, all by bus and it was quite comfortable. The buses have a schedule so we had to keep that in mind. In cerro campanario we went on the “teleferico” and moved around on the top (some of the pictures are from the top) and if you want to go to cerro otto there is a specific bus that will take you there. We ate mainly at restaurants or dinners and it was not as expensive as we thought but we did not eat cheap either. We tried to enjoy ourselves as much as possible. We also took a tour to go to Cerro Tronador, which was amazing and they pick you up before 9 am and you get back to your place at around 6 pm. Overall, great experience, it was totally affordable and it can be budget friendly if you cook your own meals, but the food there is great.

Bariloche is safe, but you have to pay attention to some things, like not leaving valious stuff on the car. Or not leaving your things un attendant. Or be careful at nigh if you are solo walking in not very nice neiborhood

Quite quiet and safe, you can go at night without problems and it's a good place to come on a trip alone You always have to be careful in Argentina anyway but this city is characterised by kindness and security

San Carlos de Bariloche
Hi! I’m Evelyn from south of Argentina. I like to travel and meet new people. I love meeting locals because they tell you the truth about the city haha. If I’m in Bariloche when you are too, count with me! I can show you around :)

San Carlos de Bariloche
Hi! I’m an Argentinian traveler, 35 years old, currently wandering around Europe with no fixed plans — just following the road. I’m an architect by profession, but I also work as a barista in cafés whenever I settle down for a bit. I’ve done several Working Holiday visas over the years, which let me live in different countries and meet people from all over the world. I love discovering new places, sharing long conversations over good coffee, and exploring cities through their architecture and hidden corners. At the moment I’m traveling full-time, looking to connect with other adventurous women who enjoy spontaneous trips, meaningful experiences, and open-minded company. If you’re up for a walk, a coffee, or exploring a new city together, I’d love to meet you.
