Is Puerto Iguazú safe for solo female travelers?

Puerto Iguazú is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Issues related to violent crime are low and the locals are friendly and helpful. However, basic precautions should be heeded such as avoiding wearing flashy jewelry, or carrying large amounts of cash. Be alert, especially at night, in less crowded areas since it can be more vulnerable to petty theft. However, the main tourist areas, particularly those around the waterfalls, are well-regulated and very safe during the day. Surrounding amenities including hotels and restaurants are well accustomed to catering to tourists and provide a largely safe environment.

How safe is Puerto Iguazú for female travelers?

Solo travel

I imagine that I'll have far better food experiences if my budget was bigger, as Puerto Iguazu is a tourist town. The town itself is average, as it exists mainly as a jumping off point for the world-famous Iguazu Falls. It's spectacular, but entrance is also spendy. Safety wise, I would not walk around at night on my own, so I'm always feeling a bit hypervigilant to get back to the hostel before dark. Otherwise, people are nice and it seems fairly safe. Just observe usual safety precautions with your belongings and decisions.
