Torit, Solo travel

Torit was relatively stable but the whole country of South Sudan felt pretty precarious at the time of my visit in 2013-2014. There weren't a lot of exciting views or activities within town but the mountain villages are gorgeous. I enjoyed the simplicity of life, and the heat, the people's humour, resilience and eager friendliness. Mango season is the best time of year in Torit. Papaya, Guava and Jackfruit are also available locally. Not a place to visit for the faint of heart, I will warn....
