I am a teacher and have been here since 2019. I love Cambodia and it is for sure a home to me. I don't get out as much as I want to anymore, but still social when I want to be. I am originally from New York, but have loved every minute here. I do get lonely at time and miss where I'm from. But for the most part phnom pehn has everything you need.

Like most people, we went to Siem Reap to visit the world-famous Angkor Wat. It is absolutely worth a visit. The magnificent temples are even more stunning in real life and our local guide Mr. Sa was amazing! He showed us to so many spots and told us stories about himself, Angkor Wat, and Cambodia. It was really a journey of a lifetime. Siem Reap is pretty safe as far as the touristy parts go. The local people were really kind and helpful. I had such a great time there!!

Was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved and felt safe in Cambodia. The food is so good, similar flavours to Thai/Viet but lighter on the palate with so much fresh vegetables, we had Khmer food everyday. Also, the warmth and understanding from the locals is touching, although there can be a lot of traffic, they don't honk obnoxiously at each other or at pedestrians. Shoutout to our Angkor Wat guide who really adjusted to our energy levels and told us so many interesting stories not just about the sights, but about his own life. I also appreciated how he somehow managed to go “off the beaten path” in places crawling with people to take better photos for us. Lastly, as a Malaysian, I was super impressed with how clean all the toilets we encountered were. 🙏 I look forward to coming back to this beautiful country one day.

Hi ! I am Mathilde, a french girl currently on a gap year and traveling around the eurasian continent only by train or buses (without plane). In that trip, I want to discover new cultures, meet new people, see new landscapes but I am also searching for taking a step back from my life and take some time to think freely about it. I am curious about everything and always enthousiastic about meeting new people :)

Hi I'm Debora, I love to travel and discover new cultures, languages and food. I'm originally from Switzerland but I lived in Ireland, Germany, Puerto Rico, England and currently living in Portugal. I can host but also just meet up to take you around Lisbon. I love to visit places where I know locals that can show me what's real and beautiful. I also love to solo travel via hostels or co-living spaces where I can meet many cultures and make friends.
