Hi! My name is Alina and I am a 31 year old American living in Sweden for 7 years and I am now starting a long(ish) travel journey. I like to travel, eat and make yummy food, nutrition and health so I do a lot of random sports from tennis to rock climbing , running and salsa 💃 I really love to have company though to go to these things and especially to have someone take me to a plaxe or experience i maybe wouldn’t have found on my own. I really appreciate having a network of women to experience local connections in a safe environment :) I speak English, Spanish (hoping to improve as I am not fluent yet!) and Swedish. Is Gothenburg safe for women?
I think it’s pretty safe compared to most countries. I’ve been to the US and other different countries where i’ve seen that it’s way worse so I wouldn’t be too worried to travel alone to Sweden. Just check the neighbourhood out in beforehand.

Gothenburg is a rather safe city. It’s the second biggest in Sweden, but it’s know for its laidback down to earth vibe. Overall I feel very safe here. The Swedish way of being is very individualistic and I feel that’s the only downside to coming here in terms of feeling safe.

I would say that Gothenburg overall is a safe city, especially for women. I very seldom hear or read about crime against women nor do I know any woman that has been exposed to a crime. In the areas I live and mostly stay in (Masthugget, Linnéstaden, Majorna, Slottsskogen, Änggårdsbergen) I feel safe.

I felt VERY safe there. The whole city is pretty chill. I haven't seen anything that might be conserning, all people were super nice and helpful. People there usually mind their own buisness, but if you ask them for anything they're always happy to help you💕💕
