I find Vietnam is one of the safest countries I have been travelling. Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Can Tho, etc are safe as you travel in Japan. Ho Chi Minh city is a bit more chaotic than other cities but compared to Rome or Paris, it’s still safe city for solo traveller

Hanoi is a relaxing and safe city, it’s very secure and there is always ways people open to help, is very rare when people get robbed, and the few case that have gone down while I been here is when someone gets drunk and the pass out in a taxi and they get dropped off anywhere, or the case of being overcharged when going out if you double check the bills

Locals are either intrigued by or indifferent to foreigners. You might get some catcalling, especially around pubs and bars, but it's unlikely to get physical. In most situations common sense can keep you safe.
Posted: February 9, 2025In Vietnam, I lived in the city of Nha Trang, and I absolutely felt safe, I returned home many times at night, I was often picked up by Vietnamese taxi drivers at night, I walked alone at night, I was also alone in bars.

Ho Chi Minh City is a big city but still safe for foreign travelers as long as they are not too relying. Crimes can happen everywhere in the world not just in Ho Chi Minh City when people are not prepared and cautious.
Posted: January 9, 2025I’m a local in Tay Ninh, I have been living here for more than 22 years. I’m strongly believe my hometown is one of the safest destinations in Vietnam. The living cost here is pretty cheap so I don’t think there’s a reason for someone to rob your property.

I feel Da Nang is an extremely safe city. Very similar to the cities in Thailand. People are very friendly. When I walk on my own during the night nobody is cat calling me. Also the Buddhism culture makes ppl here very calm

I’m living in Da Nang for many years and feel very safe here. - Nice atmosphere: weather is nice and not polluted - People are nice, you can ask for help anytime - Foods are good and diverse - Great place for digital nomads
Posted: October 7, 2024In general it is safe and I think it is a bit safer than many other places because local people are very attentive and always willing to help. But just like in any other locations it is better if we are precautious.

I had an amazing time. The people are very nice and warm. I would say it was a comfortable city to be in, if only they're now putting the children to work so much. There are a lot of scammers so you need to watch out

Singapore
I went to Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hue. As I was with a tour group, they took me to restaurants crowded with tourists, and I didn’t like the taste of the food as it was probably adjusted to suit foreign tastes. I found the street banh mi vendors amazing. The night markets there were really nice, and the people were all very friendly and welcoming, often trying to speak with me despite limited English. I can’t wait to go back!

My philosophy in life is the famous quotation of Einstein "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid". And I'm also a buddisht following the spirit of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh (who is also vietnamese person) with his philosophy "mindfulnesses" and "to understand is to love".
