Pretty safe here, people in nightlife also active frequently so it doesnt scare you that much when you walking alone around. Only need to keep an eyes on your belongings like cash, phone, and you'll be fine. The people are welcoming and friendly, if you feel scared or sb follows you, tell the locals near there and they'll do their best to keep you safe

I had no problem walking down a street during any period of the day. People were very lovely and friendly, always ready to help. Traffic is a bit chaotic but you get used to it. Overall I had a great time.
Posted: April 14, 2025Hanoi felt surprisingly safe and welcoming—people were friendly, and even late at night, I never felt uneasy walking around the Old Quarter. While the traffic is wild and takes a minute to get used to, the city has a relaxed vibe overall. Just keep an eye on your belongings and use Grab for taxis to avoid scams. Great food, rich culture, and a place I’d definitely go back to.

I find Vietnam is one of the safest countries I have been travelling. Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Can Tho, etc are safe as you travel in Japan. Ho Chi Minh city is a bit more chaotic than other cities but compared to Rome or Paris, it’s still safe city for solo traveller

Hanoi is a relaxing and safe city, it’s very secure and there is always ways people open to help, is very rare when people get robbed, and the few case that have gone down while I been here is when someone gets drunk and the pass out in a taxi and they get dropped off anywhere, or the case of being overcharged when going out if you double check the bills

Locals are either intrigued by or indifferent to foreigners. You might get some catcalling, especially around pubs and bars, but it's unlikely to get physical. In most situations common sense can keep you safe.
Posted: February 9, 2025In Vietnam, I lived in the city of Nha Trang, and I absolutely felt safe, I returned home many times at night, I was often picked up by Vietnamese taxi drivers at night, I walked alone at night, I was also alone in bars.

Ho Chi Minh City is a big city but still safe for foreign travelers as long as they are not too relying. Crimes can happen everywhere in the world not just in Ho Chi Minh City when people are not prepared and cautious.
Posted: January 9, 2025I’m a local in Tay Ninh, I have been living here for more than 22 years. I’m strongly believe my hometown is one of the safest destinations in Vietnam. The living cost here is pretty cheap so I don’t think there’s a reason for someone to rob your property.
