I’ve felt very safe here as have many of my friends who have travelled or lived here previously. There are some issues with overly forward men, but ultimately they take no for an answer which is better than what I can say about North America.

I am a 26 year old international development and climate action practitioner in Zanzibar until the end of April. Like your dream boyfriend, I love long walks on the beach, exploring this beautiful island, and trying everything. My main hobbies (at least in Canada) involve live music, yoga, and reading. I got a Kindle right before leaving and it’s become my best friend. I’m a yes woman and am excited to meet other people here!
