Santiago is consider one of the most safest city in Dominican Republic but you should be aware of your surroundings like everywhere in the world :) , if you’re walking around the city don’t use your phone in case you really need it

It's not an unsafe city in comparison with other places in Latin America. However, our place as women is very low as this is a very patriarchal society. Each time I go out to walk there's a man that harrases me or that tells me that k should walk alone. It's irritating!!

The city has some nice places to visit, like Zona Colonial, where there's a lot of history from DR and some buildings constructed since the era of Cristobal Colon. But it is very unsafe if you walk around dangerous neighborhoods and you use your phone too much outside. It is not recommended to walk alone in the dark, and you have to be careful not to be robbed while using public transport.
Posted: May 7, 2024The city is not as walkable as one would like, it’s wise to keep an eye out. The people in here is usually friendly and welcoming, they’re so expressive sometimes you might feel like they’re trespassing your personal space, but they don’t mean no harm.

Santo Domingo is a big City so as long as you remain in the safest area, you will be ok. For Example, walking in the main streets of Zona Colonial shouldn’t be a problem for a woman traveling alone at night or during the day in the metropolitan area or Malecón. Just watch out for mugglers and motobikers.
Posted: April 8, 2024I have been living in the Dominican Republic for many years, traveling alone around the island day and night and I feel safe here. You just need to take the usual precaution, don't flash expensive jewelry or bundle of cash.

The beaches are amazing. I had an all inclusive plan so I just relaxed enjoying the ocean, the pools, restaurants and activities planned by the hotel. I absolutely recommend traveling to Punta Cana. Visit!

Me considero una persona bastante amigable y respetuosa, me gusta hablar de temas interesantes y conocer personas distintas formas de pensar, puedo dar alojamiento a quienes necesiten un hogar en Santo Domingo.
