It's pretty safe. I haven't had any specific bad experiences, but I still take some precautions when returning home late, e.g. I always take a taxi as it's cheap here. The biggest problem in the last 1 year is traffic, there was a lot of crashes but overall its a safe place, In 80% cases you wont experience bad things, yes, there are rude and bad people but most of them are amazing.
