Lede is a small town and is relatively safe. In Belgium it is never a good idea to be hanging around a trainstation at night, but besides that there isn't much to worry about. Being attacked here is something that I haven't seen happening. If you hang around cafés late, you might get harassed a bit by drunk men, although I haven't seen that happening either.
