Solo travel experience
Georgia surprised me sooo positively!! I didn't know much about the country before going there because it's not a popular destination yet but I'm confident that this will soon change. Georgia has soo much to offer from stunning landscapes since it's located at the black sea and directly in the Caucasian mountains. I discovered hiking for myself and climbed quite a few hills and mountains all around the country, did horse riding and a lot of sightseeing. Georgia is Christian Orthodox so there are numerous churches and monasteries everywhere you go. The food is soo good, many vegetarian dishes, vegan was rather hard, but possible. I felt suuper safe in Georgia!! I got catcalled only twice (!!) in 5 weeks which is still too much but good compared to the cities where I'm from... I received attention from men but I never felt disrespected or unsave. I think that just happens when you don't look like the locals do. Please consider that this is my experience aa a white woman with blond hair, blue eyes. I talked to women of colour about their experiences and they luckily shared my experience but I still feel that it's important to mention what my experiences are based on. My itinerary: - landed in Tbilisi, stayed there for 12 days and did one overnight trip to Kazbeghi in the mountains and a few daytrips to Tbilisi sea, Sighnaghi and Mtskheta - went to Kutaisi, stayed there for a week - went to Mestia and Ushguli high in the mountains for 6 days - went back to Kutaisi where I left my luggage - went to Borjomi and Bakuriani - went to Batumi at the black sea

I had a wonderful experience for one week which was safe and comfortable. I traveled around by private taxi, which was cheap and trustworthy thanks to the locals. They suggested the best places for me to stay. The mountains and nature were like I had never seen before, absolutely gorgeous! :)

I was in a hostel in Batumi, there are many options and all of them are generally very decent and at a good price. you can’t go wrong with the food anywhere because everything is very authentic and good, but the best places are the tiny outlying places where the locals make their own meals from home. the best pancakes in Batumi are at the entrance to the dolphinarium (on the picture) you really have to try these and the couple who make them are the cutest ever. For driving around we had a local taxi driver to get around (through acquaintances), but you can also get around by bus. my favorite experience was in the mountains, where the Georgian family performed traditional dances and songs, they also prepared food for us, and later people were also involved in dancing and singing. for example, women were dressed in Georgian clothes and taught traditional dance. the experience was wonderful( also on the picture).

I went to Georgia for my first ever solo trip. I had an amazing time and I couldn't be happier that I made this decision. The country is beautiful, the people are very friendly, you can find delicious food and wine there, and it's also a very cheap destination.
