Human. Real. Seeker. Curious (so much). Salaam!🌠 I just love to meet new people and know more about cultures and languages. I usually go out and find new places (hidden ones, especially) with my amazing family and friends, hehe. So, I can be your local guide, I guess 👀. Moreover, I love to learn about various things, such as arts, design, cooking, psychology, history, and culture. So? Let's discover it!🚶‍♀️ Kindly check my couchsurinf account for references: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/aamena-elshamy

Cairo, Group travel

Cairo is a wonderful city, full of monuments and places to visit. Luckily I met some locals that took my friend and I to different places and took care of everything. Even if it was a great trip I have to admit that the safety was not the best. Especially as a woman. I felt watched and followed by men. I never went outside alone, and I will not try. Nothing happened to me but I would feel quite unsafe if I were on a solo trip. Also, everyone tries to scam tourists. Although the feeling is safety is not the best. Egyptians are still really nice and some are really helpful.

I felt safe in the Marina area around the hotel—we were in Pickalbatros. We had a nice person, a diver, who helped us with shopping in the marina and made us feel even safer. We went diving; the fish there were even more colorful than the ones in Sharm El Sheikh. The food was good—though we did need to take meds, of course.
