Is Seychelles good for solo travel?

Safety:

Safety:Very safe

Seychelles generally welcomes tourists with warm hospitality. The crime rate is relatively low and it's one of the safer destinations for solo female travelers. However, like anywhere else, it is important to always take standard precautions such as not walking alone late at night, especially in secluded areas, protecting your belongings from theft, and avoiding drawing unnecessary attention.
Transport:

Transport:Easy

Getting around in Seychelles as a solo female traveler is fairly simple. It is made up of small islands so distances are often short. However, bear in mind that some remote areas may require a boat transfer. The local people are friendly and helpful if you need directions. Always ensure to plan your trip ahead for a smooth journey. Great signage is present in most areas. Although, do be cautious as some routes can become quite challenging due to hilly terrain.
Things to do:

Things to do:Interesting

Seychelles offers a plethora of unique activities that are certain to pique the curiosity of solo female travelers. Appreciating the breathtaking natural beauty is a major draw, which includes stunning beaches, lush mountains, and vivid coral reefs, making it an ideal destination for snorkeling, hiking, and beach relaxation. The opportunity to explore the unique flora and fauna, especially in spots like Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve and Bird Island is an irresistible lure for nature lovers. There's also a remarkable Creole cuisine to explore, art to admire, and locals known for their warmth and hospitality. Lower rating only because nightlife is on the quieter side, which might be a drawback for some.
Food:

Food:Above average

Seychelles offers a unique blend of different cuisines, combining flavors from African, French, Chinese, and Indian food. The seafood is fresh and often the star of many dishes. Traditional dishes, such as the coconut curry and breadfruit chips, offer an authentic taste of the local cuisine. However, while the food is delicious and diverse, the options for vegetarian and vegan travelers may be somewhat limited.
Budget:

Budget:Moderate

In comparison to other exotic destinations, Seychelles offers moderate value for money. Accommodation varies from budget guesthouses to luxury resorts, all of which have their own pricing. Affordable local cuisine is available, but imported items can be expensive. Activities such as beach visits, hiking, and snorkeling can be done for free, but boat trips, scuba diving, and guided tours will add to your expenses. So, depending on your choices it can be moderately budget friendly.

I went to the Seychelles in May/June last year - it was incredible, like nowhere I have ever visited before. The food is amazing, the locals are so warm and friendly, I felt extremely safe. The culture is also amazing.

Solo travel experience

I traveled to Mahé in the summer as a solo traveler and it was amazing. I felt really safe, and the locals were nice and helpful. When I got confused with the bus schedule and got stuck in the rain a few kilometers from my resort, a maintenance worker gave me a lift. The prices were definitely high. Despite this, it was absolutely worth it.

Solo travel experience

I spent 4 nights on Mahe (it could also be 2-3), I really liked the island - both the beaches (I preferred them there than on Praslin, honestly speaking), and hiking (beautiful views). Beau Vallon was disappointing though (next to the Avani resort, where I stayed, is a beautiful beach, which for the 3 days I was there, was practically empty). Praslin was OK (2 days would be enough if you are on a tight schedule), but Le Digue was a real gem. I used Air Seychelles one way, ferry on the other and I definitely recommend the ferry (much cheaper, can be booked online). On Mahe and Praslin I used a car to save time.

Solo travel experience

Traveling on a budget in Seychelles is easy, just book accommodation on Airbnb or hotels.com, find a place to cook your own meals, as eating out can be expensive. I recommend staying near Anse Volbert on Praslin - there are affordable eating options for those nights when you don't feel like cooking, the beach is quite nice, and bus access to Lazio (and walking to Georgette) is easy. If you want to go through Constance Lemuria, try to book a week in advance. There are also amazing hiking trails there. I also highly recommend La Digue, the beaches are simply stunning. Hire a guide and hike to Anse Marron, but you need to be sure-footed like a mountain goat! Eat at least once at Eagles Nest at sunset!

Solo travel experience

I stayed there for a month - in June on a diving expedition. Ferries and buses run quite regularly without any problems. Beau Vallon is stunning and nice to be there, it is vibrant with life. I lived in Cap Ternary, which is part of the marine park. There are plenty of cheap but beautiful places from Airbnb all over the islands. The botanical garden in Victoria is definitely worth a visit, but beyond that there isn't much to see. In summary, it was just beautiful and I had a wonderful time there.
