Is Monaco good for solo travel?

Safety:

Safety:Very safe

Monaco is renowned for its high level of safety, boasting one of the lowest crime rates in the world. The city-state has a dedicated police force that ensures safety around the clock. As a female solo traveler, you can be confident of your security when exploring Monaco's beautiful sights, both day and night. However, like any place, it is still wise to be mindful of your belongings and surroundings, but overall safety should not be a concern.
Transport:

Transport:Easy

There is great ease in navigating Monaco as the city-state is compact and well structured. Walking is commonly the preferred method due to the small size. However, there are also plenty of well-maintained public transportation services such as buses, boats, and taxis to get around. The only hindrance may be the hilly terrain, which can require a bit of physical effort.
Things to do:

Things to do:Interesting

Monaco offers a wealth of activities and experiences, from world-class shopping, beach lounging, and sailing to exploring pristine gardens and luxury casinos. The beautiful Oceanographic Museum is a must-visit, showcasing marine sciences. The Prince's Palace and the Exotic Gardens provide architectural and natural beauty. It's a glamourous location that offers variety, though it can be pricey, hence it won't fit each traveler's budget.
Food:

Food:Above average

Monaco offers a varied, exceptional culinary landscape that caters to both the palates of the gastronomic adventurer and the diet-conscious traveler alike. Being a quintessentially Mediterranean city-state, its specialties lean towards seafood and French cuisine, but you'll also find Italian influences and a surprisingly broad selection of international options. However, local dishes might be pricier due to the high standard of living. Don't expect frequent budget meals, but do anticipate a delightful, upmarket dining experience.
Budget:

Budget:Very expensive

Monaco is known for its upscale lifestyle and glamour. It is one of the most expensive destinations, with high-end restaurants, luxury hotels, and boutique shops. Public transportation and some attractions are reasonable, but overall, it is not a budget-friendly destination.

Monaco is small yet exquisite; arranging a day is sufficient. The average expenses are quite high, and the overall feeling is very safe and clean. If you don't enter the casino, you can visit the aquarium instead. Looking forward to the Formula 1 in May.

I loved Monaco. It was incredibly clean, beautiful, the food was fantastic, I felt very safe walking alone, regardless of the time of day, and everything is within walking distance. Nice and various other cities in France along the Mediterranean Sea are just a short train ride away.

Solo travel experience

I spent the day in Monaco during my stay in Nice. I traveled from Nice by train, which cost about €8 for a round-trip ticket, which I purchased via the Trainline app. Here's what I did during my day in Monaco. Upon arriving at the train station, I went to the Cafe de Paris for breakfast. Then I visited the casino, where the entrance to the betting area cost €17.50. Afterwards, I went to the shopping center and found some time to look around. I went to the famous bend of the Grand Prix track to watch the luxury cars passing by. From there, I went to the Japanese Garden and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. For dinner, I had a delicious meal at La Table d'Elise. Then I went towards the Grand Prix starting line and even though the races hadn't started yet (I arrived a few days earlier), I was thrilled to see all the preparations. I then went to the harbor and admired the beautiful docked boats. Next, I went up to the palace, which offered breathtaking views, albeit it was quite a steep hill. In the palace, I visited the aquarium, which I think cost about €15. After spending some time exploring the streets near the palace, I returned to Monaco. Before I returned to the train station, I stopped at a charming little cafe to enjoy a piece of cake. Finally, around 9:30 pm, I caught the train back to Nice. The journey back only took about 20 minutes.

Solo travel experience

This is an absolutely beautiful and extremely safe country. I've been there many times. I lived nearby, across the border, in Italy - Sanremo - there is a lot to see and do there. I loved traveling around, discovering all the secret beaches on the Riviera. The people from Monaco are also charming. I spent many amazing days and nights there. Especially while traveling alone.

For me, Monaco has no charm. I was there a few years ago and I was very disappointed. Only around the casino and the castle does everything look nice. The rest are just tall residential buildings. Nice, which is near Monaco, has more charm and is prettier than this small country.
