Solo travel experience

I am disabled and this is the first time in my travels that I have felt physically unsafe. I have had to pay very close attention when out going anywhere. They drive on sidewalks, don’t observe crosswalks and generally have no regards for pedestrians. It has been stressful for me to do anything due to feeling in physical jeopardy just walking with my cane. If you are not in a WC then you are not disabled. I move slow which seems to frustrate Montenegrins but it is what it is. They also smoke everywhere and at all times even on the bus, in the stores, literally everywhere is consumed with cigarette smoke, I have never smoked in my life and smoke causes my allergies to flare so I spend time decongesting myself from going to the store for groceries.

Solo travel experience

Just returned from 3 weeks in Montenegro and Serbia. We loved there are still some places in the world that are rough around the edges. We restricted our coastal time to 5 nights in Kotor - stunning despite the cruise ships and crowds - you just need to step away a little. We weren't looking for a beach so I suppose that colours your experience. Our day trip to Budva by local bus was seriously underwhelming - nice old town but otherwise not impressed. Speedboat trip to the Blue Cave and around the bay from Kotor was great.

About Me

Hello, I’m Jemima. I’m a 30 year old living in London. I work in marketing. In my spare time, I enjoy live music, exploring bars and planning trips. I am also working on converting a micro camper to enable more travel. I have a cat, Chunky, who I hope will one day join me in the van. I am slowly learning Italian, as my dream trip is to travel through Europe but especially Italy. I have some disabilities: a neuromuscular disease and a neuroimmune disease, as well as ADHD. This limits my mobility somewhat. I am looking for travel buddies or visitors that do not mind taking things a bit slower, to accommodate this.
