I have lived here for 20 years and have never been attacked or felt unsafe walking around, even at night. I would say that there are sometimes groups of school boys (11-15) who can be very rude and have been heckled by them before. (I mostly think this is because I look their age which worries me for girls who are their age). Apart from that everyone is really respectful and you get a great sense of community.
