Hong Kong was amazing with the wonderful vibes and the old school buildings, it was like stepping back into time in the most modern sense. I loved just walking in the streets and simply soaking in the vibes of the city.

I feel safe and the public transport is efficient. I love the northern part because I saw how locals live and work. I enjoy also the solo hiking in the mountain. I love the Hong Kong beach because of not so touristy.
Posted: August 5, 2024Experienced: November, 2018Hong Kong is suitable for traveling alone. For ladies traveling alone, it is definitely a safe place to visit. The street food is nice, worth trying, and not too pricey. However, some tourist attractions can be too crowded for my liking.
Posted: June 27, 2024Hong Kong is extremely safe. I lived in Hong Kong and I really liked it there. Wonderful hiking trails, lots of food to try, excellent public transportation, and widespread use of English alongside Cantonese.

Hong Kong is a very good place to visit and even live!! The locals are also very nice and the food is just amazing. Hong Kong has lots of islands around so you can take a boat and explore and even go snorkelling and or diving. there are also lots of hikes in Hong Kong and you can also hike to a beach and camp over night!

I went to Hong Kong for a few months to study abroad. I can really really recommend going there. In Hong Kong there is always something to do and you will never get bored. If you stay in Central you are in the more international part of the city. This is also the best place to go and party - on Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) Street. However you can also go to different beaches or even hiking ! I can also really recommend the street food which you can get for really cheap !! It’s also very safe unless you stay in Chunking Mansions, which is the only place in Hong Kong where I didn’t feel safe. Overall 10/10 experience !

It's a really safe place for female to visit alone, not having to worry about being harassed or threatened. There is barely any robbery cases in Hong Kong and let alone murder or rape. Would highly recommend if you are interested in Chinese culture.
Posted: April 29, 2025Hong Kong is really safe that you can just leave your laptop and wallet on the table and you go to wash room. You can just walk alone while night without any worries. Hong Kong is high population density city, everyone are willing to help if you got anything happened.

Hi! I’m Andrea from Hong Kong and I’m doing a solo trip across the Schengen Area in April. I like to experience new countries through locals so I’d love it if there are some hospitable people out there who could host me! I’m down for city breaks, countryside outings and anything in between. I am clean, easygoing and have been co-housing for years so I am a respectful housemate. I look forward to meeting you! :)

I am an outgoing introverted, stay in HK Studied in UK and Canada. I like travel alone but it would be better if there’s some ppl can share and explore together sometimes, meeting new friends during the trip. I do cycling, running and canoe, start learning some dances. If anyone come to Hong Kong, I am happy to meet up, grab a drink or have a nice dinner.

Hi I'm Maria, I'm an Australian national of English and Filipino descent but born and raised in Hong Kong! 😄 I've lived in England and Hong Kong and am looking to move to Australia later this year. I want to travel for a bit before then. I'm on Travel Ladies as I'm interested to meet the locals of place (when I'm travelling) or travellers that I can show Hong Kong to (when I'm hosting). I'm excited to get to know and experience a different side of a country that the usual tourist wouldn't normally get to see.
