I feel safe and the public transport is efficient. I love the northern part because I saw how locals live and work. I enjoy also the solo hiking in the mountain. I love the Hong Kong beach because of not so touristy.

Posted: July 17, 2024Hong Kong is suitable for traveling alone. For ladies traveling alone, it is definitely a safe place to visit. The street food is nice, worth trying, and not too pricey. However, some tourist attractions can be too crowded for my liking.

I went during the summer when it was soooooo hot. I think if you like trekking winter is better as there are lovely trails here overlooking the sea. Dim sum is so yummy, but in general reataurants are really exoensive, especially in the city center.
Posted: June 27, 2024Experienced: May, 2024Hong Kong is a beautiful place whether you are a nature lover or just looking to explore great museums. Don’t miss out on exploring Lantau island, taking a stroll on Victoria Harbour, dining at great restaurants (Try Ho Lee Fook, Kam Wah cafe and definitely do a street food tour) and top tier bars and so many other things. Felt very safe walking alone at night and even solo hiking The dragon’s back trail and everyone I met was friendly. Another plus is the proximity and good transportation. I visited Macau and Tawai
Posted: January 29, 2024Hong Kong is extremely safe. I lived in Hong Kong and I really liked it there. Wonderful hiking trails, lots of food to try, excellent public transportation, and widespread use of English alongside Cantonese.

Hong Kong is a very good place to visit and even live!! The locals are also very nice and the food is just amazing. Hong Kong has lots of islands around so you can take a boat and explore and even go snorkelling and or diving. there are also lots of hikes in Hong Kong and you can also hike to a beach and camp over night!
Posted: November 19, 2023Hong kong is a good place to have a travel. You can eat delicious food, walk around the street. The network is very convenient for travelers,Especially you can use free WiFi even in the bus! When I come back, I want to have a trip in HongKong again!
Posted: October 31, 2023I visited Hong Kong alone during a short visit. I had a wonderful time there and encountered no problems. Hong Kong is a very modern metropolis. English was spoken in my hotel, and when I ventured outside, I noted down my destination to give to the taxi driver. So it was a bit odd, but wonderful. I ordered food, etc. according to pictures. A few signs were in English, but most were not. I explored the old part of the city on my own and felt very safe.

Hi hi, lived in Hong Kong for 7 years, I’m Chinese and speak the language, so there’s no problem! In terms of travelling here as a solo female, you have nothing to worry about, I would say it’s safe to even walk home past 12am. I would avoid walking in alley that are not well lit. Other than that, people are not SUPER friendly but hey if you need help I think they will actually lend a hand, plus English is the second language so no problem

Hong Kong is safe to travel alone, and safe to walk alone at night as a female. Dining alone is completely fine too and I never felt like I was in serious danger. Of course stay away from going into red light districts alone at night. Occasional staring and sexual harassment does occur on public transport usually with middle aged men, especially if you expose too much skin.
