I did a 4 week study abroad at The College of Natural Resources in Bhutan. The landscape was incredibly beautiful and majority of it completely untouched by humans. Buddhism is a huge part of the culture here. Everyone was very welcoming of foreigners although the young men seemed very very shy and nervous around all women. Stay options are very cheap and beautiful around punakha. Laidback life and routine can be observed even in the capital Thimphu. Felt generally very safe around. My budget was 38k for a 10 day trip which included food stay and travelling around.

Posted: October 21, 2024I visited Bhutan in 2019 and it was amazing. It was also the most extraordinary travel experience I have ever had. I felt very safe. I traveled there alone, but I always had a guide and a driver with me. I want to go back and see more.
