About me

Hey ! I’m Shama, 28yo living in gorgeous Marrakech ! I live in a cute little house 10min from the city ( love me some peace and quiet, closer to the Atlas Mountains as well ! ) with my husband, our 2 amazing female doggies, lily and pumpkin, a turtle named turtle who would def nibble on your toe for a piece of fruit, 2 bird families that we don’t own but who decided to make nests around the house ! So yeah quite the happy bunch and lively home ! I work as an assistant in a Montessori school, and spend 1/3 of the year in Tanzania studying to become a Montessori guide ! My husband is Swiss Army knife with everything relating to design/photography and so many other things AND loves cooking from scratch, very lucky gal over here 💃🏻 ! We love hosting, sharing stories and life moments, eating good food, Rock climbing, camping around Morocco 🇲🇦!

Marrakesh, Family travel

I went in January last year, it was all round an amazing experience! Would reccomend going to the secret garden, the atlas mountains and trying chicken pastilla! I went with my mum and I won't lie I did feel a little unsafe, most people are just shop owners trying to chat or get you into their shop to earn a living but we did have one guy follow us down the street, shout at us aggressively and make a throat slit motion which was quite scary! That being said the rest of them were respectful when we said we weren't interested in buying things from their shop and backed off so I think that guy had some problems.

Morocco, Solo travel

I was very skeptical about the safety in Morocco but after spending a good week in this country I can tell that I felt safer than in some European countries. Of course there are a lot more strangers calling you in the street (for example I was called multiple times Shakira, inviting me to go something from their medina store) but after a while you get used to that😁

Tangier, Solo travel

Tangier is a smaller city in nothern Morocco, and i traveled solo off season in April 2024. Overall i met the nicest people ever there but also had to experience some harassment. I recommend to not walk around alone unless its city center, because cars will stop and honk at you (no matter what you dress like). I recommend using Taxi Apps because public transport is not that reliable. Food is amazing and cheap!

Morocco, Couple travel

My trip to Morocco was unforgettable. The food was delicious, with vibrant flavors that truly captured the essence of the country. Exploring the desert and visiting breathtaking waterfalls were incredible experiences. One of the highlights was the lively atmosphere of Jema el-Fna, which was simply amazing.
