I lived in Addis for 1.5 years. If possible, get connected with a local family. There’s a bunch who speak English - going to an international church is a great way to meet English speaking locals. Their culture, language, and hospitality is VIBRANT. Food is incredible but be prepared for spice. Massages are super cheap. For the pool go to the Sheridan (10€ equivalent but you can spend the day there and order food and drinks from the poolside). Entoto park is worth the trip. Download the app...
