Hey my name is Lekea I'm 22 years and I want to travel to 100 countries before I kick the bucket. I'm extremely goofy and kind. I really love to meet new people and learn new skills and other people's culture.
Based on 5 experiences
Barbados is an extremely safe country. As women, we felt safe walking around at night. Locals are all friendly and helpful! The natural landscape is also beautiful. The public transit is quite good for a Caribbean island, and is very affordable. The only /slight/ downside is that Barbados is slightly more expensive than other beach destinations. But in my opinion the price is made up for by the safety of the people, affordable /reliable transit, and public beaches.
Posted: March 14, 2025In Barbados I felt moderately safe since I was followed one day (during daytime) by an older man through the street and inside a shop and then he only stopped when I was on the phone talking with my sister. I did an island tour with snorkeling and also visited an animal sanctuary. The snorkeling was not the best since the area had plenty of boats full of tourists, the water wasn’t that clear and only saw one turtle far away. But apart from this it was a very pleasant experience. It was not very expensive, the flights and hotel included were around 900£. And also the food was very affordable since the Barbados dollars are less than American dollars. I would recommend going to all the beaches, you can easily walk around and all the beaches are free to enter. The bus is very affordable but I didn’t feel very welcomed by the locals in there. It was a good first time solo experience but I didn’t go out at night, thought it was better not to risk it.
