About me

Hey there! I’m Romi. I’m 33, live with my cat Eme. Studied social work and sex education. I have multiple jobs but still find the time for me and social activities. I’m a fan of yoga and currently trying with calistenia exercises. Ooh I also love nails, I’m kind of a manicurist, or at least trying to. I love meeting new people, languages and cultures, never get bored of listening and sharing experiences, coffee or wine and long talks are one of my favorites activities. Activities outdoors I definitely enjoy, getting to know new places to eat, walking at the rambla, and of course going to the beach.

Is Montevideo safe for women?

Quite safe in populated areas and during the day; in more outlying neighborhoods and at night it becomes a bit less safe, although pickpockets are present all day and everywhere. At night or in more remote or dangerous places, you could experience a more violent robbery. Regarding sexual violence, it is not one of the main crimes committed, but that doesn't mean it can't happen, especially at night.

I don’t recommend being aline at night. During the day its fine and people are very nice. Ask locals for directions and if you are unsure go inside a store or anything you can find. If you are a solo female traveler try to stay in a group or avoid being alone at night.
